Metrorex has finally chosen the consortium to build Magistrala 5 (Thoroughfare 5); construction to start at the end of the current year 2011

Metrorex selected the consortium formed by Astaldi (Italy), FCC (Spain), Delta ACM and AB Construct (Romania) for the Magistrala 5, Râul Doamnei-Haşdeu.
The company Aktor contested the bidding, therefore the work will be probably postponed a little bit until the end of this year.
The investment is estimated at 215 million of euros and 25 months of work.
The selection Râul Doamnei - Haşdeu will contain 9 stations, respectively Râul Doamnei, Brâncuşi, Romancierilor, Parc Drumul Taberei, Drumul Taberei 34, Favorit, Orizont, Academia Militară, Eroilor 2.

Metro 7's construction to start in 2013; Chinese company to build it

Anca Boagiu the Minister of Transport, is in China to negotiate the construction of the thoroughfare of Subway 7 (Metro 7), Bragadiru-Voluntari.
The new thoroughfare will have 25 km and 30 stations and will be concessioned by Metrorex, for a period of at least 30 years.
The works will start in 2013 (1 year is the feasibility study) and will last 7-8 years. The value of the investment is around 2 billion of euros. Of this project, companies from Europe, America and Asia were also interested. Especially a large delegation from South Korea which made a presentation last month in Romania.

Catedrala Mantuirii Neamului (Romanian People's Salvation Cathedral)

Bucharest will finally have a real cathedral. Romanian People's Salvation Cathedral will have a cost of 200 million of euros (120 * 70m). It will have a height of 100 meters and a capacity of 5,000 pilgrims will be insured. The building will be built in Byzantine style in 4 years and will be located in the courtyard of the Parliament House.



The building will have 14 lifts and over 700 parking spaces. The architectural ensemble of the church will include, besides the building itself, four other bodies.

In the front left will the house "St. Andrew the Apostle", where the pilgrims will have a home for clergy; in the front-right will be the house "St. Paul", a home for the "mireni" pilgrims; lay in the back right will be the "Mission Cultural Center St. Paul" for the Romanians (from country and abroad); and in the back-left the "Social Medical Center St. Luke" house for sick and elderly pilgrims.

National Museum of National History "Grigore Antipa" from Bucharest (opening - 17 Sep)

The modernisation cost around 13 million of euros (2 years and a half work).

China Town: newly launched mall in Afumaţi (€27 million)

China Town opened this summer at Afumaţi, near Bucharest, a shopping complex with 1,240 stores, following an investment of 27 million. Unit includes 200 permanent and 200 temporary storage warehouses.
The unit opened Tuesday is the first stage of an investment project of over 100 million, to be held on an area of ​​40 hectares.

ParkLake Plaza Mall (€250 million)

The work on the commercial center of Titan, Bucharest, began in October and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013 and so far almost 70% of the available area is rented.



The mall will become an innovative concept that will include 10 tennis courts and football and playground for children. Total investments of €250 million, performed by Irish investment group Caelum. ParkLake Plaza will have a rentable area of approximately 67,000 sqm, which will be distributed on the surface of the basement (Cora hypermarket), ground, floor, and the last level will be multiplex Cinema City.

The shopping center will include a main hypermarket Cora with an area of 15,500 sqm; in total will have about 200 stores and about 3,000 sq m for areas of restaurants, cafes and fast food units (over 20). Also ParkLake Plaza will have 2,300 underground parking spaces and second floor will house a multiplex cinema with 16 screens, Cinema City.

Terra Park (€30 million)

The amusement park of Sector 6, was inaugurated in 16th October, in record time (4 months).



Terra Park will include 30 attractions (among them, the platform Z Force Tower - which rises to a height of 53 meters, the famous rollercoaster with a track of 310 meters or the Hydrolift) and 500 parking spaces on an area of ​​30,000 square meters.
