Now here is the real question. How can Forbes come up with a list of the most miserable cities in the U.S. and not include Gary, Indiana?

Or more accurately she is a woman of African descent and Dominican by nationality and I'm sure as we all know it's not that unusual for people of African descent to have a darker hue.

Apparently I am in the minority, but I believe the blonde on the right has a much more attractive body. It has nothing to do with the color of her skin.

This couldn't possibly be real...

Must not have much snowfall. Of course that would make one wonder how half of those cities made it on there. Actually, if I remember reading the article when it came out, Memphis ranked because FedEx is the city's largest employer and had some layoffs - and consequently now the city is a miserable, crime- and rat-infested cesspool. I've even heard that very reason is causing it to snow more often there.

I was under the impression that we are all of African descent...is that not true?

Most Dominicans are descendents of slaves brought from Africa. So while I goes both girls are technically of African descent, the one is more recently descendent than the other.

I think Salem, Oregon is one of most US miserable cities! I lived near Salem for 1 1/2 years... NO ONE IN SALEM SMILE!!! I hate that city and that's why I left.

Memphis really surprised me...they seemed to have based their ranking totally on the fact of high taxes.

Have you ever been to Memphis? Memphis reminded me of an old drag queen that just can't quite carry it off any more. She's still got a few killer moves (Beale Street), but for the most part she's seen better days.

What gets me about Memphis is how you transition from a nice downtown area with freshly-paved streets and new facilities to crumbling roads in the hood in 0.4 seconds. Just such a stark, immediate contrast so soon. I don't get that.

I'm not surprised about Miami being on there, Florida in general is a crappy place to live. The pay is low, cost of living high, corruption, piss poor education, traffic, etc.

I know lots of Floridians who never go to the beach because they have to work all the time in low-paying jobs to pay for ridiculously high living costs.

South Florida might be a great place to retire or vacation, but unless you're wealthy it's not as glamorous as you would expect to live there.

Nonono, it's just like saying living in the middle of some small town in Montana is more fun than living in Miami. It just doesn't make sense.
