Can the OP shift the pic to the Sydney thread? Looks like it was a foggy old day in Sydney town, given that it was taken at around midday

And how splendid the Town Hall and QVB look, dominating the streetscape.

Gezza1967 uploaded a video clip from Rage showing the Stevie Wonder bus from 1976 doing the 380 from Circular Quay to Bondi Junction.

And I know this one is not colour, but it's such an incredible picture of 1920s George Street I couldn't pass it up.

Great set at http://acms.sl.nsw.gov.au/album/albu...&itemID=823844

All I can say is, I hope the next 50 years of construction lives up to the last 50 years. But I fear the city has lost it's pioneering spirit.
It was a 2 million person city in 62, and is expected to be an 8 million person city in 2060. The city is going to have to change a lot one way or another.

The doors were closed some years back and it's going to stay that way.

Recent editions of the Melway of and Brisway have 1500 new street listings, compared to just 600 for Sydney.

I think that one is from 1976-77. A rare shot of the rising turret of Sydney Tower at right.

They should have never allowed Victoria Towers to be built right next to Park Regis. It is not a bad apartment tower but merely in the wrong location.

Darling Park has enhanced this part of town and also went over the roadway too.

As for Darling Park, yet more Harry Seidler crap, if there wasn't already enough. And stumpy.
