Not really.

BER could be in any city all over the world. Nothing unique about it, whereas Tempelhof was one of a kind.

What a beautiful view! Can't wait to fly to the airport someday
From the picture, is there still space to extend for the terminal or satellite terminal in the future? It seems the train will run underground when it is closed to the airport.

To be honest, I don't like Tempelho Airport terminal. The building may be fixed for central station, gov building but not for the airport.
I am glad Berlin has a new airport to replace the old one.

The jet bridges will come in at last.
I dont think the height of the gate has anything to do with the A380.
The pax disembarking use floor level 1 while the pax about to board flocks in from the upper floor of the terminal, it just allows for smoother operations. That's how it happens at Incheon International Airport where you have the same massive gates. It's just really convenient.

@ Iggis, phugiay and Aenelia: Thank you for your interest on BER By the way: In it's initial configuration BER has only one A-380 jet bridge. It's under construction right now (marked with the red circle).

What a wonderful aerial view!!! Vielen Dank for posting! I guess that pier without jet bridges will be for Germanwings and Easyjet? And seems like both left and right piers have very long connection with the main building, as passengers would have to walk quite long distance to the main terminal...or am i wrong?

Stunning / classic beautiful.

What have we heard about airlines increasing service from BER once it opens? Any new carriers or destinations? When will the airport open? What will happen to Tegel?

Thanks!
