Does Boston even has an airport?
What a ridiculous question about Boston. What did you think Boston was, a little town?

Actually, the design is inspired by Prussian Classizism, for instance the Old Museum and the colonnades on the Museum Island.

The main terminal will be temporarily used as the new governmental terminal, before a new building for this use is built in front of the current Germanwings Terminal D. I guess the latter and the Easyjet-"container" called Terminal B will be removed, but the original Terminal restored in original appearance would make a pretty nice GAT. No concrete plans are known, though. On this map (be aware, almost 4 MBytes) you can spot the current plans. Ramp 2 is all governmental.

Do you think that the new airport can handle the situation? Won't become supra aglomerated by unifying number of passengers? It predicts that the number of passengers carried will surpass 24 million, thus the airport will become the 11th or 12th bussiest airport in the world by number of passengers carried, situated between Gatwick and Ataturk Airport.

The structure is quite big and able to deal with the passenger traffic. We have much smaller airports in Brazil that deal with the same numbers of passengers. Those DO get crowded. But that's not BER's case.

BER won´t be even among the top 30 airports worldwide by passenger traffic.

^ Correct, I was wondering where ducus got that from. Currently, BER would rank on the 15th rank in Europe, close behind Zurich.

Meanwhile, AB is planning another long-distance destination, moving their WDH (Windhoek, Namibia) flight from MUC to BER:

from 03.06.2012 AB7378 BER-WDH A332 ------7 Departure 18:10 Uhr

This airport does look quite nice. The germans tend to do tasks to a very good standard!

Looks like there's quite a lot left to do before June! I hope they can complete it in time. I will be flying there in June, so I hope it actually opens when they say it will.

Those last pics are old and do not represent the current state of construction.

Wow, BER is looking classier and classier. Despite its quite simple design, it looks elegant because of the subtle details. I love the wooden panels too.

Thanks berlin apron. From CNN video, it seems BBA is almost done and ready for June 3 . It is simple but stunning. There are a lot of history in the old airport, good and bad. With a new airport, Berlin totally has a new facelift. Great job Berlin.
