![]() I imagine once you nail down how the sounds transform, it's not so bad... It's actually not that hard to pick out words here and there.

こんにちは。 Luka です。モンテネグロ人。
And thats basicaly it ![]() I was fooled with all online lessons saying "japanese is not that hard", but after i've been struggling with even most basic sentences, i can only say: japanese is extremely damm hard to learn. I've been trying to put up a sentence "I'm trying to learn Japanese" for almost 45 minutes, and failed. I don't get how to express persons, i dont understand should i use は and if yes, or no, then why, i dont get if i should use some prepositons before verb, or a noun, absolutely nothing, i don't get do i keep informal forms of the verbs, or not. Seems like Japanese is really hard to learn without proper course ![]() I couldn't write my name in Kanji, so if someone can fix it please ![]() For the rest of the characters, i had to improvise, since i don't have Japanese keyboard |

ルカ is your name in japanese, it should be in Katakana. You should also add desu after 人.
Here is a good website on japanese grammer: http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar BTW you don't need a japanese keyboard, install japanese language on windows (it's free and should be included) and then you can do it. Follow this: http://www.yesjapan.com/install_japanese/

So i was going to say "I'm trying to learn Japanese" As much as i figured, sentences go like subject-object-verb, but for some reasons "Japanese" always seem to go first. So it would be "Nihongo-o " (日本語を ?), and then i have these two words, narau ( 習う ) for to learn, and Tamesu (試す) for try. So, try should go into present form (which is informal ?) and should be at the end of sentence, while to learn should be somehow converted to express my own person (because im not talking about other person, right ?). How do i make this sentence properly, if you could use latin writting as well ![]() Thank you. Do you suggest btw, that i learn hiragana and katakana characters first before going into grammar ? |

I think it is better to say you are studying japanese: 日本語を勉強しています。 nihongo wo benkyou shiteimasu
I am trying to learn japanese: 日本語を習おうとしています。 nihongo wo naraou to shiteimasu Both are polite. Quote:

Thanks, for all links, i'll call it a day, since this book you recommended looks like it got the point about learning Japanese in a proper way (not only learning as much "usefull" phrases), i might order it printed for more convenient reading Thanks again, or shall i say ありがとう。

I recommend working through the author of that grammar guide's 'complete guide to japanese' on that same site. http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/complete
It's not complete yet but even in it's current state it will give you a good start. |

As i can see, it's not available printed. You agree it is a bit hard to study over screen, since it makes you tired of reading quickly, hence killing your motivation. I would need PC for helping with vocabulary and other stuff ofc...
