Petition for Sim City 5

I know that there's a lot of discussion everywhere on Sim City 5 but I feel that we should discuss it some MORE!!!

(I will be working on this list for months, any ideas that come to my head for SC5 will be up here)!!!

1. There should be a bigger variety of hospital's, like there could be doctor offices, hospital campuses (with over 900 beds, which is big in real life), mid sized hospitals (300 beds), etc.

2. There should be better roads, we the people should not have to download a rural road, or we shouldn't have to wait for a eight divided lane highway or avenue to be released. They should already be on the game!!!

3. The game should have more styles as in the New York Modern, to New York 1940's. I believe that they should add the following styles to the game: Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Miami (only around water, and the game should know where to build these towers), Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City, Panama City, London, Tokyo, Dubai, Sydney, Beijing (China), Germany, Moscow, South Africa, and Brazil.

4. The game should let you decide what area's will be your uptown, your downtown, your midtown, and etc.

5. There should be a larger choice than 540 building's it should be more like 5,000 so there won't be so much repeated building's.

6. The game should let you every time you start a city off chose the population that you want, to see if you can achieve it!!!

7. There should be a better choice of City-Halls, and the main City Hall can have board, and approval meeting's that you can go to.

8. Anytime you decide to let the game update there should be a approval meeting to see if you would like to choose from the building's that are be requested for your city because some of the building's from the update you may not like (to me that would be a very unique feature)!!!

9. When you legalize casino's, you should not have to build the casino your self, but casino(s) should be built!!!

10. When you build a university the campus should be able to expand!!!

11. A inauguration for a new President should happen every ten (10) years!!! (Note The President does nothing on the game but just makes the game look more realistic)

12. When your road or avenue is over 6 divided lanes than you have to name it!!!

13. If it comes out on iPod you should be able to transfer up to two (2) of your cities to your iPod to make the game more portable.

14. A airport can be built outside the city limits and still work for the city and for that matter the metropolitan.

15. The amount of money should be more realisitic because in real life $1,000 ain't building you s**t, so a middle school should cost $15 million, a large middle school should cost $17 million, and etc. (note you should start off with about $200 million on easy)

16. You should be able to build the PROJECTS.

17. Tunnel's should be built among choice!!!

18. Hospital's, Police Stations, and etc should be built (constructed)!!! (With a year to build them, so if a adviser says you should start thinking about a new school next year because the old one is about to be over capacity in two (2) years then build the new school that year!!!

19. Every 50 year's you nation should go through a credit crunch for two years (just to see if you can get out of those periods)

20. *YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE STATES*

21. Real life events should happen: say if it's Christmas then you should see Santa Clause go across the sky, or if a Hurricane comes to your city you have to build it back up!!!

22. INSURANCE, INSURANCE, AND MORE INSURANCE...Your city can have a insurance policy for it so if that Hurricane happens you get money. (BTW, those major events should not happen upon your choice)

23. When a person is jobless DO NOT make the entire building jobless!!!

24. Mixed-Use development's can be built, so a couple of extra zoning button's will be needed, and residential towers can have stores at ground level.

25. There can be a button to see how your cities companies that are based there are doing (so basically the button show's a stock exchange of the companies based in your city)

26. You can decide the nation's capital, you can decide the states capital, and you can decide the county seat (detailed right)

27. When your in the nation's capital there is more thing's you can do like if your going through the 50 year credit crunch then you can give out stimulus checks, bail out packages, and etc.

28. A height limit can be adapted over a city or a district!!!

29. War's can happen between nations. (Once there is more than three (3) nations)!!!

30. Your city can have boroughs too!!!

31. Light-Rail, Commuter Trains, Long Distance Trains can be built (like Amtrak)!

32. When your in the capital city you can decide how deep you would like the subway tunnels because if you want you can have private underground tunnels too, (similar to the "United States Capitol Subway System")!!!

33. You should be able to choose what part of the city you would like to be upscale!

34. Schools should be able to be expanded, so that you won't have to build a new once since it will take a year to build a new one, then to expand a school it will only take three months!!!

35. REWIND BUTTON-(Warning it will cost you %70 of your cities fund's, and you will only be able to go back a maximum of five (5) years!!!

36. In the National Capital, loans can come from other nations and the loan amount maybe up to $1,000,000,000!!!

37. AT LEAST %60 OF NATIONAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES MOST BE IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL!!!

38. In the game you should be able to decide what areas you want to be restricted to the people.

39. This could be my favorite feature*A POPULATION DENSITY MAP* ranging from 1 people a sq mi to 300,000 people a sq mi!!!!!!

40. Professional Sports teams can come to the city!!! Say you go to a approval meeting and a team owner want's to create a team for your city, you can decide if you do not want it, if you want it in the city (you have a option as long as your the county seat where to put the team), and etc, also the team can play in a university for five (5) years until a new arena is funded, if it's not funded then your city could go into debt!!!

41. You make money off of energy, so you actually can raise of decrease the taxes on energy

42. You can create the GOVERNMENT to a certain extent!!!

43. The weather should be fantastic: It can rain, it can snow, drought can happen, spring, summer, winter, fall, and etc (I personally hated that it was spring or summer all year long on SC4)

44. The City can sue companies, the companies can sue the city, and the people can sue the city!!!

45. LOT'S OF CHEATS should be on SC5!!!

46. Every (five) 5 years your city will have a picture showing how it looked 5 years ago and now!!! (That seems pretty cool to me)

47. Your city can petition for certain companies to come to your city!!!

48. The cities military can expand so that you can create more job's!!!

49. National Cemeteries can be built in or outside the Capitol City!!!

50. You will be able to design your own bridge!!! (With out having too go on the internet and download the building architect)

51. If your city ever falls into a credit crunch and isn't able to get out of it then the government will automatically take control for 10 yrs!!!

52. There could be a ordinance so if your city is growing to fast or even to slow you can pay 200k a month for growth management!!!

53. Roundabouts can be built with up to 10 lanes (which is very European Style)

54. Districts of city should be able to develop into districts upon nationality: so if you want a china town, then it will happen!!!

55. Highways are automaticly designated as beltways, freeways, and etc, also the city will automatically name the highway so if it connects downtown to a freeway it will be called the "Downtown Connector"!!!

56. The city could have a map similar to "GOOGLE MAPS"!!!

57. If your city needs a highway and the funds aren't good enough to afford one then toll booths will be built automatically along the highway!!!

58. YOUR CITY CAN CONTINUE TO GROW WHILE IN REGIONAL VIEW, if you would like it too!!!

59. The population per house will be realistic. On SC4 a single family house would have 13 resident's in it but on SC5 it could be 4 people living in that single family house!!!

60. Government facilities similar to the Pentagon can be built!!!

61. Seaports will be zoned, so that you wont have to build them!!!

62. If you would like to you can build your cities airport on water (it will automatically be a artificial island)

63. NASA space centers can be ZONED!!!

64. Mixed use development's can include Marina's!!!

Signed, it's not going to happen. Maxis has already disbanded the SimCity Franchise. I think the last SimCity game (something for wii) wasn't even made by Maxis anymore. I think they scrapped the Sim City series, but now they've got City Life.

I hate City-life!!!! If I ever become a billionaire or if I win the lottery tonight or something, I will pay Maxis $5 million so that they can make a SS5!!! (I think that's a pretty high budget too)!!!

Funny list. I've heard complaints like those about Sim City since Sim City 2000. Even if EA makes another Sim City, it probably won't be what you want. If anything it'll be further away from what you want (other than better eye candy).

I've always wondered why a group of talented programmers don't get together, and make their own City Simulator to show EA how it should be done.

It's reminds me of how Austin Meyer created X-Plane many years ago to outclass Microsoft's Flight Simulator as far as replicating accurate flight dynamics and more realistic aircraft mechanics. And guess who's left standing? After 28 years, Microsoft closed down Aces Studios last month and laid off the employees. Microsoft Flight Simulator is essentially dead. Right now, X-Plane is running it's latest beta tests for version 9.3, and Austin's company is doing better than ever.

Not worth it. They need to let Maxis have total control of development of the game, otherwise it is pretty much guaranteed to suck.

I am quite disappointed with SCS and SC4 limitations, however, this petition really makes no sense. The author makes an impression of a lazy slacker who wants everything served. Nobody can make a game that suits everyone.
In my opinion, this game should come with some really comfortable tools and a flexible engine. When the users get some decent bones they can build something on them. We don't need an all-inclusive package, we want the ability to create (that's what SC4 was like).
