Very early to say, but it makes little sense to buy them.

New planes need to prove they are safe and it will take years. Additionally it makes more sense to just buy from Airbus and Boeing because bulk order provide huge discounts.

9H-TQM is a HiFly Malta aircraft. They usally lease their aircrafts out or do a-hoc charter flights. Does anybody have a information how long -TQM will stay with Taban Air?

Competition is good. We shouldn't as humans control the market and say "we only need three airlines". It is better for the Iranian airline industry to have free competition with how many airlines it possibly can be needed, and let the market forces decide. In that way all the airlines want to be the best, leads to competition, we get a better product from them and some airlines naturally disappears. A bit like Darwin's theory

I think 9H-TQM and CS-TMT which both are from HiFly Malta are bought and will stay forever as they are quite old. HiFly wants to get rid of them I can imagine.

Taban also bought A310 CS-TEX about one year ago from HiFly Malta and kept it as EP-TBH.

There are no rules on how many aircraft an airline needs to have to become efficient. We have many regional airlines in the world with a fleet consisting of less than 15 aircraft, they do fine too. All airlines can't be "international".

So according to your thought aproximately 50% of all airlines in the world should be bancrupt because they own less than 50 planes. And although the market is governmentally controlled there is still more choice for passengers when they have 20 airlines instead of 5.

You are right in theory. But none of these airlines are private or truly compete.

That is not what I said.

I said Iran should first have 3 or 4 large airlines with over 100 planes and then increase the number of airlines.

If you have the current fragmented system, customers cannot benefit from airline designated terminals, from a proper transit system, from a frequent flyer program that is actually useful.

The second and third Taban look great.

On the second Iran Air I really like the tail but not the rest.

Your Aseman paint looks great!

Another question: Does anybody have recent pictures of the Iran Air Cargo A300B4 (EP-ICE)? I heard it has got a new or revised livery.
I want to do a repaint for the Flight Simulator X but can´t find proper pictures

Russia may produce Sukhoi Superjets in Iran

Russian officials say the country is negotiating with Iran over the local production of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) airliner to replace the ageing Iranian fleet on regional routes.

The superjet is much better plane and has Western Avionics. Even KLM-Air France have ordered it. I wish people will stop cutting this plane down. This is Russias first successful jointly built plane.

Expect more major airlines to order or in the coming year.

Cool I agree, also the added advantage is if it becomes the workhorce of domestic flights and is partially built/assembled in Iran then our engineers become experienced with the plane, it reduces the likelyhood of technical issues.

Air France-KLM has not ordered the Superjet.

CityJet, which used to be owned by Air France-KLM has, but only after they were sold to the German company Intro Aviation.

Anyway, CityJet has signed argeement to fly for SAS lately. They are a well established airline and that they bought SSJ100 may show us what this aircraft can offer in terms of short/medium haul flights.
