Hi! Two terminals will be opened at IKA. The first one opening is called Salam and it started construction in Mid-2015. It will open during Eid-al-Fitr 2016 and is for pilgrime flights. So you can include all Iranian airlines' pilgrime flights plus Saudi Arabian Airlines', Iraqi Airways' and Fly Baghdad's.

Iranshahr, the second new terminal will open in about 3 years.

The two new terminals will 6x the annual capacity of passengers to 30 million. The railway network will also be connected to IKA soon.

here's the source, http://corporate.airfrance.com/en/pr...gaulle-tehe-1/

I have made them aware of the spelling mistake in English for Tehran They have not started selling yet, and the aircraft type is not confirmed yet, but I'm guessing A330-200?

They've always used the A330-200 and A340-300 during high season

You should send it to them. This looks great. So much better than the current.

Mahan is the only Iranian airline I like.

Hope they buy A320neo family for short-haul with some A321neo with flat bed for less busy European routes and 787 and A350 for long haul.

Does a 320 need a stop for refueling on the way back to Paris?

A320NEO actually. And I think it is capable of flying that distance without needing a refuelling stop, however I don't fancy being in a narrow-body aircraft in a flight lasting more than 2-3 hours!

Air France doesn't have the neo on order, but apparently a ceo with sharklets can also fly the distance.

Poland's LOT have sought permit to serve Tehran, have they flown there before? any east European airlines? only know of Aeroflot and JAT Yugoslav.

I would like to see more Asian carriers fly there, maybe Korean or Asiana, Malaysian, Garuda, Thai, Philippine airlines, one of the Indian carriers, Sri Lankan, I know Cathay Pacific were inteterested at one point, AirAsia X can return too.

Most coast to coast flights in US are A320 / A321 or 737-800. No need for refueling. In fact no domestic flight in the US, not even Miami to Seattle use wide body.

So A320neo would be amazing. Just look at the A321 Transcontinental of American. Much better than a wide body because it is not overcrowded.

Smart move. They fly the Dreamliner to NY and could become an airline bringing Iranians to North America.

East European airlines that serve Tehran are:

- Aeroflot
- Belavia (seasonal)
- Bulgarian Air charter (seasonal)
- UM Air
- Ukraine International Airlines
- Georgian Airlines (seasonal)

Air AsiaX is planning to serve Tehran again soon.
