747-8 just like the A380 is a useless plane which is too large, and relatively inefficient. I am sure Iran Air will also end up not buying the A380. It is just a waste of money.

The only good Boeing models Iran should order are:
B737 MAX, B777x, B787

From Airbus
A320neo, A330neo, A350

From Bombardier
CSeries

And new Embraer model

If not B747-8I Iran Air should get B777-300ER for long haul route and B737 Next Gen -700 -800 -900ER for short to medium haul routes and one and only B787 Dream)Liner B777X arriving from 2019 onwards and B737MAX will start arriving from 2017 onward

Hi Amin, do you have information on when Mahan reduced Munich Service to two weekly? According to Airlineroute they increased to three weekly in May 2015. However Mahan Air schedule shows only two weekly service to Munich. Thank you

Hi Mahan Air increased the Munich flights from 2 to 3 weekly as of 22MAY15 but later went back to 2 on 10JUL15. Since then it has always been 2 weekly. No idea why though

Many articles are indicating that the deal with airbus will be signed very soon and deliveries will start this year:

Quote:
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Iran will receive from five to eight new planes in 2016 which the country earlier has purchased from the European Airbus company, Head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) Ali Abedzadeh said Monday.

Quote:
French Transport Minister Alain Vidalies told reporters in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday that negotiations over the deal have been finalized, adding that Airbus has already started proceedings to provide planes and aviation equipment to the Islamic Republic.

Vidalies - who arrived in Tehran on Sunday night on board of the first Air France jet to land in Iran in eight years - added that technical discussions over the financial aspects of the deal are still underway.

On the same front, Abbas Akhoundi, Iran’s transport minister, emphasized that Airbus has announced that it will fund the deal to sell planes to Iran in the near future.

Akhoundi also said he had discussed about the involvement of French firms in Iran’s transportation projects in his meetings with Vidalies.

That's only a rumor, but I don't think those aircraft are available on flights to Beijing and Kuala Lumpur during that time.

Germany's biggest Newspaper Bild is writing about Mahan Air's Syria Activities as a main story today. It is the number one topic on their website and they even try to catch attention calling it 'breaking news'
Well, being called "scandal terror airline" is perfect marketing for Mahan Air in Germany... Congratulations!
