On 5th October also an A319 from Dart UR-COP flew from Kiev to THR. Any idea which iranian company will get it used (Zagros)?

The A340 will probably be transferred to an Iranian airline. The A319 has been painted white and the owner will be an Iranian airline.

Follow me. If Iran joined forces with Antonov or had a big say in Russian new builds, they could have the advantage of tailoring an aircraft to their exact needs.

The A340s will be a major step forward for the Iranian people and the airlines that have the responsibility of flying them from A to B.
Hopefully Iran will now have the time and facilities to develop the infrastructure so they can expand and attract new customers.

I read the article. My 2 cents :

- Iran air should seek direct flights to USA and Canada, but will face lot of hurdles with Trump or Hillary.

- More realistic, Iran should target Europe-Australia flights (with stop in Iran) : In my opinion, due to geographical position, iran has a big advantage compared to Asian and Persian gulf arab companies.

- The same can be said with Europe - East Asia flights (with stop in Iran).

- Iran Air should enhance and modernize its website ASAP!

However, on thing Iran needs to do is possibly extend the runways at Tehran Iman Khomeini International Airport (IKA) to as long as 16,000 feet to serve long-range international flights. Because it operates in hot and high conditions during the summer, that make such a long runway imperative, especially if Iran Air gets planes like the 777-300ER or A350XWB-1000.

Iran says plane deliveries still pending talks

Iran says technical issues are to blame for the delay in receiving the airplanes it has purchased from global aviation giants Airbus and Boeing.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said what was previously obstructing the delivery of the planes were the related authorizations by the US Treasury Department which were issued last month.

“The delivery of the planes now depends on the finalization of negotiations between Iran Air from one side and Airbus and Boeing from another,” Araqchi told Iran’s ISNA news agency.

He emphasized that negotiations on plane purchases are complicated and comprise many technical and legal issues.

The official added that Iran Air hopes to receive the first planes it has purchased in the near future.

On 21 September, Airbus said it had obtained an initial license from the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for the early delivery of 17 A320 or A330 jets to Iran. This will be part of a deal worth above $10 billion that was signed in January for the delivery of above 100 planes to the Islamic Republic.

The announcement by Airbus was immediately followed by a similar move by Boeing which said OFAC had given the authorization for the company to proceed with a deal it had signed with Iran in June to sell 80 planes to the country. The company is also expected to lease 29 other planes to the Islamic Republic under the same deal which is estimated to be worth $25 billion.

Officials in Tehran have already announced that Iran needs to purchase between 400 and 500 commercial airliners over the next decade to rejuvenate its ageing aviation fleet.

The country’s current aviation fleet is comprised of around 140 planes with an average age of around 20 years, with many in desperate need of replacement.

Hello here a small update:

Dart A319 UR-COP moved to Iran. Any news which company will get it.
Dart A321 UR-CPH flew to Kish Island, any news when they will enter in service.
Dart acquired a 2nd A321 UR-CPM, most probably will also go to Iran.

Does anybody have news about the A340 which flew recently to THR.

Anna Aero puts Tehran into the top 20 fastest growing airports in the world right now and Aseman into the top 20 fastest growing airlines.

Iran, they say, is the fastest growing Country Market...in the World albeit off a low base due to sanctions

This is a good development for Iran, especially Iran Air.

Looking forward to their 747-8i orders.

I think they should start expanding first with south east asia, given that they have a rich culture and history, tourism should be well marketed.

Exclusive: Iran's Airbus jet purchase gets boost from lease finance deal - sources

Iran has reached a deal with a foreign leasing company to finance the first 17 jets it plans to buy from Airbus (AIR.PA), breaking a logjam in efforts to import aircraft following the lifting of sanctions, people familiar with the move said.

The deal removes a significant hurdle to securing the first tranche of jets, following uncertainty over financing and political opposition in the United States and Iran, though the sources caution months of talking have thrown up new potential hurdles.

Iranian officials declined to name the lessor involved, but industry sources said in September that Iran was in advanced talks with the United Arab Emirates' Dubai Aerospace about helping to finance the purchase.

"We have a deal to finance the first 17 aircraft," a senior Iranian official told Reuters, without elaborating.
