But nevermind, mentioning these American jobs they are pushing the president elect and it's new administration + the congress not to block the nuclear deal or not to reinstate the sanctions.
Even the statement says this: "The order will be posted on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website as contingencies are cleared."

I am very happy Iran did not get them. I have flown A380 and 747-8 and the Dreamliner and A350 are more convenient and economic. Shame Iran Air did not go for the Dreamliner.

Well it may make sense not to get dreamliner considering the technology transfer and new check routines and trainings. Iran air will get them eventually (at least that's what I am hoping).

We should not forget that Iran ( not Iran air) is also looking at ordering SSJs ATR 72s and Embraer E Jets in addition to the orders from the big 2.

Unfortunately some people haven't been keeping updated with latest aircraft and therefore haven't gotten over their obsessions with the jumbos and flying whales

Iran's Aseman Airlines to lease seven Airbus jets: sources

Iran's Aseman Airlines has agreed to lease seven Airbus (AIR.PA) jets, two aviation industry sources said on Thursday, scotching earlier reports that Iran had agreed to buy the aircraft directly from the European manufacturer.

...

Meanwhile, a delegation from Airbus is in Tehran for talks to finalize a deal for about 100 planes.

...

On Thursday Airbus denied having finalised a deal with IranAir but indirectly confirmed that another carrier had agreed to acquire seven aircraft via a third party.

"Airbus has not finalised any contract so far with IranAir and the agreement for seven airplanes that has been reported is not directly with Airbus," a spokesman said.

Iran Aseman to acquire seven Airbus jets

...

The semi-official ISNA news agency quotes Rabiei as stating the aircraft will be delivered from May of next year onwards. The type and supplier were not specified.

According to Reuters they will be leased. It might not even be new A320s.

But nothing has been firmed up yet, we cannot know for sure if any new announcement is or isn't part of the original announced deal.

According to German press, the first delivery will happen only in 2017 March... But 5 aircraft.

Airbus has already secured the financing of 17 aircraft, and Iran Air will pay for 3 in cash.

IranAir confirms cutting Airbus order, dropping A380s

IranAir has trimmed its planned order from Europe's Airbus (AIR.PA) to 100 planes, partly by dropping superjumbo A380s, the flag carrier's head said on Sunday, confirming an adjustment first reported by Reuters.

"Although the nominal value of the contract for 118 Airbus planes had been announced at $25 billion, the A380 planes have been dropped from this contract, so the value of our Airbus contract will not be more than $10 billion," said Farhad Parvaresh, quoted by the state news agency IRNA.

Seems fals info...

Exclusive: Iran to land first Airbus jet within weeks under sanctions pact

...

"We have finalised negotiations with Airbus and any day we will be able to sign the deal in Tehran," Deputy Roads and Urban Development Minister Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan told Reuters in a telephone interview. "We are expecting some final clearances and expect to sign today or tomorrow."

...

The first Airbus A321 could arrive before the Jan. 20 inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who has opposed the deal to lift most sanctions on Iran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear activities, and well ahead of Iranian presidential elections in May next year.

That could provide a boost to the government of President Hassan Rouhani and allow Airbus to find a home for some jets abandoned or deferred by other customers due to economic problems in South America and elsewhere, analysts say.

...

Iran has reached agreements with at least two foreign leasing firms to finance a total of 77 jets, including 42 from Airbus and 35 from Boeing, Kashan said.

Those companies will arrange finance leases, a form of funding which is closer to a purchase than a standard rental.

...

Aircraft are usually paid for in dollars but France-based Airbus will receive euros.

Kashan said all the transactions would use foreign currencies initially, but that Boeing would ultimately receive its income in U.S. dollars.

People familiar with the deal say Boeing has U.S. approval allowing it to go ahead on this basis for 15 777-300ERs but that it will need renewed approvals for the remaining 65 aircraft.

Western export credit agencies will not be involved in either the Airbus or Boeing deal, Kashan added.
