There is only one clear pattern emerging from this: older airplanes are generally less safer than modern ones, nothing else.

The DASH-8 confirms it's excellent safety record, on par with that of the Boeing 767 (end even as safe as the B777 or A320 if the -400 is counted separately).

The ATRs as a whole are as safe as the MD-80/90.
The ATR-42 alone enjoys a similar record as the Lockheed Tristar or the MD-11. While the ATR-72 is comparable to the Boeing 737and 747, or the Airbus A300.

In the end, as squiry pointed out, most of the times, when a plane crashes nowadays it is rarely because of a fault on the aircraft design itself, but often because of human error or inadequate maintenance.


(as an afterthought, there is a "spoiler" code in the board in order to not clutter the thread with my walltexts? I think I've gona a bit too much off topic anyways. but I hope I had at least explained my point without offending anyone.)

Shaheen Air have ended Mashhad service prabably since some months, they were operating there from Karachi and Lahore once a week each.

Okay so among the countries listed on the e-visa service which are not eligible of this e-visa program, all of them makes sense except Bangladesh. What does Iran have against Bangladesh?!

They can stay back and work in Iran illegally or ue it to cross over to Turkey and head to Europe for same, thats why Afghans, Pakistanis and even Indians have been excluded. mostly lower classes visit there as pilgrims, they do same in Saudi staying back after Umrah.
