Plane crash in Iran kills five onboard

an aircraft being used for training has crashed on approach to the airport of suburban Isfahan, killing all five people on board.

The crash occurred when the plane intended to land in Isfahan's Shahin-Shar airport on Sunday afternoon. Its crew including a pilot and four co-pilots were immediately killed in the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

According to Tabnak Website, the plane was an Antonov An-140, a short-range turboprop. A Russian design, the vessel is being produced in Iran under license by HESA as Iran-140. It carries a maximum of 52 passengers.

The country's aviation system functions under severe constraints ever since the US imposed tough sanctions against Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution which toppled a Washington-allied monarch in the country. Aircraft parts are one banned item.

Yes it's a shame but one day we will make our own jets and 10times better than Boeing and Airbus (I hope that... xD ) I just read at the Imam Khomeini Airport timetable that Iran Air has started flights to Dusseldorf departing 09:15 (morning)

now Iran Air flies to, Hamburg,Cologne and Frankfurt in germany and now Dusseldorf also. and Mahan air flies to Dusseldorf to also Iran Air had flights to Berlin back in 2001-2002 too...

sorry it was an charter flight but now I see that Mahan Air flies to Najaf, Iraq. now 3 Airline company's are operating to Najaf from Iran: Mahan Air,Caspian Airlines and Iraqi Airways and to Baghdad,Iraq: Mahan Air and Iraqi Airways.

Sorry I don't find it too but I know that in 2008 Tehran IKIA airport handled near 6 million passengers, but the airport is still in phase 1 their mission is to expand the airport so that they can handle 90 million passengers by 2030.
