Till now they mostly flew, F100, ATR and B727. This is a big jump for them.

Incident: Taban MD82 at Kish on Feb 4th 2012, engine fire indication


A Taban Air McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration EP-ARA performing flight HH-6262 from Kish Island to Tehran Mehrabad (Iran), returned to Kish for a safe emergency landing.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Kish as a precaution due to a technical problem.

A passenger reported that the flight crew announced they had an engine (JT8D) fire indication.

Very interesting article of the purchase of the A340:

The most interesting part of the article is this, I think:

yes, but question is how will they manage the plane. Considering its a A/C type and engine type they haven't worked with before, I think it wont be long before it has to go tech

Incident: Iran A30B at Bushehr on Feb 21st 2012, rejected takeoff

An Iran Air Airbus A300B2, registration EP-IBS performing flight IR-408 from Bushehr to Tehran Mehrabad (Iran), was accelerating for takeoff from Bushehr when the crew rejected takeoff. During deceleration both forward left main gear tyres deflated. The aircraft was disabled, the passengers disembarked via mobile stairs and were bussed to the terminal.

Passengers reported the crew announced a navigation system failure caused the takeoff to be rejected.

Mahan Air Opens its First Dedicated Lounge

Mahan Air has opened its first dedicated airport lounge in Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport. The grand opening was celebrated in a ceremony with the presence of Mr. Esmaili the head of Iran Airports company, Mr. Asgari Hemat The Mehrabad Airport Managing Director and a number of high ranking Management from the Mehrabad Airport as well as Mahan Air.

The 540 Square meter lounge is located on the East side of Terminal 4 and its unique decorations and hospitality standards offer a pleasant experience for Mahan Air business class passengers to begin their Journey on our domestic flights. The lounge has 120 seats and it is expected to host more than 300 guests on daily basis.

Again EP-IBS with tyre problems. (Remember incident at Bushehr 21Feb)

Incident: Iran A30B at Isfahan on Mar 4th 2012, burst two main tyres on landing

An Iran Air Airbus A300-B2, registration EP-IBS performing flight IR-3401 from Bagdhad (Iraq) to Isfahan (Iran), landed on Isfahan's runway 26L at about 15:12L (12:42Z) but burst two main gear tyres on touch down. The aircraft came to a safe stop however was disabled on the runway.

Incident: Mahan A30B at Zahedan on Mar 9th 2012, cabin did not pressurize

A Mahan Air Airbus A300-B4, registration EP-MHF performing flight W5-1070 (scheduled dep Mar 8th, actual dep Mar 9th) from Zahedan to Tehran Mehrabad (Iran), had departed with a delay of 2 hours. During climb out the cabin did not pressurize prompting the crew to return to Zahedan for a safe landing.

Following examination the aircraft was able to depart again with a delay of 4.5 hours and reached Tehran.

Gossip on Iranian aviation site Aerospacetalk suggests that the air conditioning system may not have been turned on by mistake.

About EP-MOL.. there is a news.. from our forum member ( www.ucuyorum.com ) has noticed that BeAE aircraft has been reg changed and flight from Corlu airport 3 days a go...

Incident: Saha A306 at Kish on Mar 17th 2012, burst tyre on landing


A Saha Airlines Airbus A300-600, registration EP-SIG performing flight IRZ-2808 from Tehran Mehrabad to Kish (Iran), burst a right main gear tyre while landing in Kish at about 12:10L (08:40Z). The aircraft slowed safely.
