Incident: Bukovyna MD88 near Mashad on Jul 24th 2012, cabin pressure problems

A Bukovyna McDonnell Douglas MD-88 on behalf of Taban Air, registration UR-CIX performing flight HH-6261 from Mashad to Kish Island (Iran), was climbing through FL220 out of Mashad when the crew observed the cabin altitude climb through 8000 feet. Although both air conditioning systems showed no malfunction the cabin altitude continued to climb at 200 feet per minute. At FL270 the commander stopped the climb and decided to return to Mashad. During the descent, at about FL190, the cabin pressure returned to normal. At FL160 the commander decided to stop the descent and continue the flight. While climbing through FL270 the cabin altitude again climbed through 8000 feet prompting the captain to decide to return to Mashad, where the aircraft landed safely.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin that maintenance found a defective flow control valve, a faulty pressure regulator and clogged filters of both left and right hand air conditioning systems. The filters and the faulty devices were replaced. The investigation commission analysed that the faults were caused by a manufacturing fault, the manufacturer disagreeing with that finding. The commission thus stated in their conclusions that the reasons for the failure of the devices could not be established.

No, the second A340 won't come to Aseman as mentioned at flightglobal.com on 1st Feb.

Thanks i remember this but thought maybe there was a new development. As they said 10 new planes would be added ro the national fleet I wonder if these new mds in the last days are a part of that. Plus zagroses new a320 of course.

There are rumors that a ex KLM Fokker 100 PH-OFN (1993) will go to Kish Air...
And also of new planes for Iran Air...

1. by scrapping aircrafts and using their parts 2. by buying parts on the black market 3. by using forged parts 4. buying parts via a second company (eg. via Ukraine)

I dont know if their flights are business only, but could be, since on their website it is said "qeshm air - business airline".
I was asking that myself too but i haven't found any information about first flight/former operator. I will let you know about it if i find something.

Thanks great! Since they have their newer planes and the industry is looking for new routes and new concepts to make money this would eventually be market gap to fill. Also using business would mean they can charge more. It is actually interesting since Iranians like luxury and comfort this is a good way to go. As far as I know mahan started with offering business on domestic flights and than Iran air and Iran Air tours now have it too. I have not flown on Ata and others but from their pictures they had them too. I think most major players now offer business seating.
