Until now five ex Onur Air A306 were transfered to KBP, they were built at about 1993-95. I think they are for Mahan but it could also be that they are for an other iranian airline... lets see...
With these A306 Mahan could expand their fleet again and could become bigger than Iran Air.

Breaking news!

Iran Aseman Airlines to Start Stockholm Service from May 2013

Iran Aseman Airlines from May 2013 is introducing service to Sweden, where it plans to operate twice weekly Tehran – Stockholm route, on board Airbus A340-300 aircraft. First flight is scheduled on 02MAY13.

EP6658 IKA0900 – 1140ARN 340 47
EP6659 ARN1240 – 1940IKA 340 47

This will be the carrier’s first route to Europe.

http://airlineroute.net/2013/04/15/ep-ika-may13/

I think following questions arise:

- Can Aseman fill the plane since IR also flies there twice(?) weekly too??

- Where do they get fuel on the flight ARN-IKA?

- What happens when the A340 is maintained or broken? Will they charter Mahan/IR plane or cancel the flight?

- Do they want to offer low-coasts flight or what??? Because I think otherwise the pax are going to fly with IR...

I think the question here is whether they can fly the A340's into the EU without risk of getting it seized

These are apparently not merely rails but complete assembled junction units of electronic switching gear and points which needed specialist engineering by Voest Alpine. They are apparently a regular supplier to the rail sector in Iran but because there was a tight deadline for the opening of a metro line they needed to charter a flight for it rather than send it by sea.

Makes a lot of sense now, thanks!
Did you take the photos? If not, where is the source? Is there a iranian aviation forum I should know about?

Do you mean this batch of Onur's A300B4 at KBP (Date - 16 April 2013)?

Dated 20 April 2013.

As you can see, one more A300B4 joined this lovely company. Likewise, all of them were moved to a remote parking stand.

Thats a iranian air force 747. They are shooting at it because they are probably bringing military supplies for the syrian government.

I wish the iranian government just went away

Someone posted underneath this photo on airliners.net that this airframe is not airworthy and connected to a local scam/scandal. Does anyone know anything about this?
Most of Iran Airtours' fleet seems to be grounded.

i have to agree, if something like that happened we would hear in the news. Also I have checked the Tehran airport arrivals just now and Iran Air Tour had 5 normal flights on schedule arriving.

Well I wonder what is happening when seven of their aircraft appear to be parked up at Mashhad, some with engines missing.

I have a theory, maybe the Civil Aviation agency is taking a tougher line as they recently banned the Saha 707s. It could be that they have grounded these for checkups? It could be that they are already back in action?!

Could be. I noticed a sharp decrease in reported incidents from Iran in The Aviation Herald. I looked at that site last year and there were reported incidents from Iran every 1-2 weeks. Now there are none at all.

From june 30th Mashhad-Hyderbad flights will start. Asseman Air will fly the route bi-weekly. Also Mahan will make its Tehran-Dehli flight daily.

I think the increasing trade relations are helping increase travel.
