any news?

Can IranAir expect some more planes in its fleet anytime soon? Any A310 or A300s phased out from others? Sadly the negociations in Geneva seem to be a bit slow/stagnating...

On the topic of sanctions, they have always said that only the EU sanctions and the new US sanctions would be removed. On old US sanctions on American good would be excluded, so I wonder if Iran will get as a resolution a possibilty to buy new planes? I do hope so.

I truly hope that the sanctions that prevent Iran Air and all Iranian carriers from purchasing newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft will be lifted soon so that those can finally catch up with the rest of the world.

Another airline I have not seen before too...

Atrak Airlines A320-200 (reg. EP-TTB)

Iran Air, iran air, who is iran air? They are stagnating for almost a decade, while Mahan Air has developed so rapidly from a cargo airline with russian planes to the airline with the most planes in its fleet. Look at their cabin, it is up to date with western airlines! Who would have thought that some years before?
Just think of what iran air achieved in the last years, how many planes they have bought, how many new destinations they have annouced. And then you have to compare it to Mahan, you will see who is the new big player in Iran.

I really like your post, of course it's just wishful thinking... but any little step forward is great to see... and yes, there would be a great deal of work to do post-sanctions.

Jeez I really like these Mahan cabins, they look amazing!!! How rich is the company to afford these type of changes when the rial is so low. Definitely want to test these flights more than ever. Can't wait for their LGW flights.

In the meantime, did anyone also read that

- Aseman took over Mahan's Airbus A320s under some form of lease? (it was in Persian, so I'm not sure if I understood the facebook post 100%)

- What route does Aseman use the 767 on? I think they leased it from Kam?

Hi have seen Atrak removed the 3rd A320 from Service (EP-TTC). Do you know wat is the reason behind it.

When do we see again A340 EP-APA in the Air

@geostudent Iran Asseman using a B767? Hmmm... maybe it is using that aircraft on lease (from another carrier) to supplement capacity on its popular routes, perhaps on the Tehran-Dubai service. I wouldn't be surprised though if it experiments with a long-haul service.

well if you check the flights in and out of Tehran International

http://ikiafids.ir/ARREn.htm

you can see it when they are flying. Otherwise the website of Qeshm shows it as well in their route page in Farsi.

Mamnoon, the route network can't be loaded on my computer... Could it be related to sanctions? What country are you in? Iran?

Also, the QB flights are not recorded on any site like aviability or flightradar etc.
Why is that?

You have to go to the farsi page. Their English website has an issue.

Generally speaking, most Iranian airlines are not registered with route tracking websites.

Hang on... Has Iraqi Airways purchased any of those A340-600s? I don't think it might come from that airline since only a few carriers operate it nowadays, including Etihad, China Eastern, and Virgin Atlantic. It was also formerly operated by Cathay Pacific too. If I remember correctly, Iraqi Airways got a few B777-200LRs.

Hmmm... are those parts to be used to maintain their aging B747SP? I truly hope the sanctions against Iran can be lifted soon (even though it might be slow) so that it can purchase newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft instead of waiting for hand-me-downs.
