Say what you want about the boom, but I believe that Met 2 is the most valuable addition to downtown Miami in the last few years. Its social, aesthetic, and economic contributions to downtown Miami will (hopefully) yield more positive changes to the city than anything else that's been built recently.

And it is shaping up quite nicely!

Fantastic skyscraper for Miami -- this was a great boom but it did not produce great skyscrapers. This is finally what Miami deserves. Unfortunately it is too short to make an impact--this building wants to soar. It could have done so with 10-15 more floors. Too bad.

Many of us feel that way. Taking this design to only 647 feet was a waste. I feel the same way about 1450 Brickell. It should have been at least 100 feet taller and Met2 should have been at least 200 feet taller.

I guess I must be the first one to say (but not the only one to think) that I really dislike this design. The design is by no means exciting and it just doesn't scream quality to me. Whilst I can see it's impact on the Miami skyline, I cannot see it being anything special. In fact, it looks quite tacky. I'd be disappointed with this if I lived in Miami right now!

I totally respect your opinion. but i completly disagree. It is fantastic! I can't wait to see Met 2 complete and see the beautiful Atlantic ocean kiss off it's reflection from the glass of this tower.

I do wish she was taller. At least around 720ft would've been amazing for this baby.

I look at this picture and I think "You've got to be kidding me!" My only issue with the building is that it should have been 100 meters taller. Well, it's a good thing you don't live in Miami.

What it lacks in height it makes up for in girth haha. i guess that must sound funny but Met 2 added a one two punch for the cbd. Two shiny glass towers right next to each other where just a few years agoa giant surface parking lots existed; What's not to like? While i no longer live in MIA, i can definitely appreciate what its done to the downtown cluster purely from a densification point of view. If they could only build Met 3 at the full 866 feet that would seal the deal.

In terms of design, im not completely sold on the aqua/greenish thing going on but it seems like it would be more eyecatching in person. Miami does seem to have abundant sunshine and im sure at twilight this building is magic!

What is the deal with Met 3 anyway? Has it been scrapped altogether, or are they going only 12 floors or whatever? The Met project always seemed like it was to go in phases. Now that 2 is nearing done does that mean that 3 or Met Square not far from springing up?

No one can really say about Met 3 at this point, but I think it has been scrapped altogether.
