Five Allen Center whispers: http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-rea...-paul-frazier/

Quote:
My Story: Paul Frazier

Downtown has a serious pull: It's what got Brookfield local head Paul Frazier into real estate. He worked as mail clerk at Vinson & Elkins the summer before he entered college—intending to become a lawyer like his father—and as he walked the area delivering packages, he was fascinated by the construction boom under way.

...

On his professional bucket list: redeveloping Allen Center and developing Five Allen Center. (That's better than our bucket list which is just: "Meet Cher.") Paul tells us he's never done a significant repositioning of an existing property, so he's looking forward to that process. (Look for more info in a few months.) And Five Allen Center isn't far off; Brookfield plans to build the 1.1M SF 50-story skyscraper on a site it owns. It won't go spec, but based on today's market, Paul imagines he could negotiate a pre-lease in the next year or so and be in the ground in a few years.

If there was news it obviously would have been posted. Dont be that jackass that bumps a bunch of dormant threads without anything to contribute to them.

Seems to have gotten a massive height cut but still looks good.

You'd think booming Houston would need the space of an 850' foot tower.

If I'm not mistaken there was another building (830' and 50 floors) called Louisiana something that apparently got a height bump to 58 floors so it could be a potential tallest. This was relatively recent news (from SSP).

Houston is building a lot that's for sure but nothing super high yet. Maybe for the best though, the city needs to fill in

It will probably be built on spec so at least there may be some progress towards a calendar on this deal. There's a lot of office going up in Houston right now and the oil price slide may lock everything down for a while. Chevron's new skyscraper is already on hold...

1600 Louisiana. That's the new Chevron Tower. There were rumors of as many as 64 floors for the tower before it was put on hold.

64? That could push it past 1000, is it on hold like never actually going to be built on hold or on hold but is still an active project that will resume under the right conditions on hold?

Thanks for the info, that's exciting.

It's on hold until conditions improve.
