I should rename the D'Agullar Line to the CentreLink Line

@MaxHeadway, I like your map.
![]() Though as for the inbetween Citytrain/Traveltrain. I think it qualifies more of a QConnect map since it services regional Queensland (instead of TransLink) You could probably extend the regional rail map for a limited stop service to Maryborough with ICEs. A fleet of DMUs for western services, and ICEs used for services north.

That Adelaide map kicks some arse.
------ Yeah, you could re-build the old Hervey Bay branch.. electrify the sucker and run an ICE/Tilt all the way into there. The idea around my regional map was just to re-rehabilitate all the old disused branch lines which could now be viable again.

I like it. But maybe move the old Beaudesert line from the old alignment to the Sydney-Brisbane rail line alignment for easier access in and out of Brisbane (rather than competing with GC and Beenleigh trains)

Depends where you expect the future population centres to be Macca. The two lines serve rather different areas heading towards Beaudesert.

haha, not only is the airport bad for growth in height both at glenelg and more importantly, the city, its a huge area of land, that could be used to make West Adelaide more important (i have never been anywhere there except the airport and on the way to the beach)

I do believe that very few people realize the real estate potential of Adelaide Airport's current location. It is an enormous tract of land, providing enough urban infill to alleviate the urban sprawl of the Adelaide metropolitan area for at least 5 years, and would provide a pristine example to build medium density environmentally sustainable housing and transit-orientated-developments so close to the city centre with light rail links, and lots of parks.

Another boring Saturday... what's a train nut to do???..
![]() Awwwwww yeah. This isn't a Countrylink replacement but a whole independent system. New high speed track, easements, grades and tunnels to allow the Alstrom equipment to happily cruise at 360km/hr. Costing XXX Billion dollars. I doubt we will ever see a descent high speed rail network in Australia in our lifetime.

so when will the "Mt Lofty Base Tunnel" be finished? To say nothing of the Warwick/ Brisbane link ... which someone has investigated in detail for ARTC. |

LOL Yancancook so true... here's the fruit of my labour today
![]() Basic principles: -Eventually provide high speed line from Geelong to Maroochydore via Canberra and Syd -Only run public rail services where ultimate destination has population >25000 (CityRail interurban lines exempt from this requirement) -All lines have minimum 1hr frequency -Black lines average 100km/h, yellow lines average 200km/h -Intermediate stops demand induced - communities must guarantee min tickets sold to residents/tourists |

Hey guys, what software are you using, and how do you make the curves, and the interchange shapes for Richmond and Flinders St? Cheers.
