Carnival in Brasília - A ghost town in B&W

At first, I would like to say that this is just a kind of photo essay. Make no mistake, Brasília is not that quiet, it is a feverish metropolis with more than 2,500,000 inhabitants. But, fortunately or unfortunately, we do not have tradition in Carnival, like Rio de Janeiro, Recife or Salvador, so that many people travel to rest or to celebrate during this National Holiday. This desert-like appearance is very appropriate for a man with a camera in his hands...

Brazil is something more than carnival.

Beautiful and artistic photos! Brasília concentrated largely people from various regions of Brazil and the carnival as a holiday many people leave the capital.

Not really, people just flee to the beaches as it is holiday for 3 days post weekend, making it a 5 day holiday. Actually people that live in Rio usually flee Rio itself during this time, going to nearby beaches where they holiday such as Buzios, Angra dos Reis, Paraty.
People that are too far from the beaches usually just travel somewhere else, like a farm, mountains, countryside, just to rest since it is public holiday.
But the real parties happen all over the whole coast of Brazil where people are holidaying and enjoying the last bit of summer on the beach before going back to their routines in the big cities...
