Friend, I am talking about the Domestic leg of the new International Q400.

Colombo is the limit for us in this W12 beyond which we can expect only AIE's Muscat..Other destinations are not possible in this W12 with BASA issues.

We're doing follow-ups for BASAs with our ministers.. Expect other destinations in S13 !!

Now time to guess the domestic leg of new Q400 International flight from SG

hi guys,
very happy movements throu the news one by one.
so we are nearing to take IXM to the world.
one more thing that did anybody see the immigration counter is in finishing stage and LAN setting the spot?... please get the inform from airport and update.
because SG told to operate intl srevice from next month. immigration desk, customs and intl scaning desk and CISF unit is ready?
waiting the new update.

Are non AI/IA allowed to do that? (i mean touching 2 domestic before flying international & vice versa)?

Though Business Line news is good news, i better wait for the real official announcement before partying.
After seeing too many of such trailers, just want to wait for the main picture release

What I mean is a Domestic service + an International service with the same aircraft by Spicejet. It's not like One-stop from a domestic destination to CMB via IXM..!!

B/w One stop Intl. connections are not allowed for private carriers in India.

I agree with you partly..In current scenario, technically as well as operation
point of view, IXM-BOM using a Q400 is not possible for the following
reasons.
a. Navigation systems are land based and hence flying distance betwee IXM-BOM is around 1500km. This is a risky proportion for Q400 with a max range of 2500km.
b. SG has not yet established a base at Mumbai for the Q400.

But in next 6 or 9 months,
a. satellite based navigation system will be in place and flight distance will be reduced to <1200km.
b Today KF operates one ATR from bombay. There are many more places that are not yet connected.
So SG creating a base at mumbai with the next set of Q400 is very high.
Actually IXM-BOM direct flight will be a killer product because
travelling time will be very short and cost will reduce drastically.
so patronage will also be high. For SG, it will be like 100% utilization of Q400.
so in summer 2013, we can expect this to happen.

what about goa and mangalore. In SG website, when u select madurai as origination, these are the other two listed cities which can be connected using Q400.

COK-IXM-COK by AI is doing very well now according to AI manager, Our sources told..

Surprise to see the new destinations picking up from Madurai..!! With tourism season beginning, We can also analyse the movement of foriegners who visit Madurai and Kerala for their Vacation during Pongal season.

SG's Bangalore is picking up as well.IXM-BLR is always good but BLR-IXM is slowly picking up.IXM Aviation industry people are sure that BLR flight will be a hit..

SpiceJet changing Hyderabad flight timing. They changed its timing to morning with four hours gap between arrival and departure from IXM. Where they going to fly in that 4 hours? I leave it your guess...

EKSI..! SG has requested a new Morning slot for its Q400 to do Hyderabad is what the news, we got from airport sources..!! It was mentioned as extra service..!!

But Why the changes in early August itself ? Looks Confusing

I still believe they come up with an additional Q400 HYD at morning..!

If it is just the time change, why did they change the flight number also? Like Gilli said, it might be the additional flight also. It's just weird that they changed the numbers, and removed this flight for later dates.

Thank you Gilli. Hope to hear more good news on the BLR-IXM-BLR flight. Good to see IXM-COK sector doing well too. Let us hope this becomes a successful domestic flight.

1. It applied from 7th Aug, which means in just 5 days. So Colombo is not possible.
2. If not to Colombo, are they going to keep it idle? or New domestic route?
3. Flight number also changed.

They should do some domestic route for atleast 1 month till CMB starts if it's real time change..Are they going to cancel 2nd DEL flight and do IXM-MAA-IXM with this Q400 in that 4 hrs gap ? (or) Try IXM-DEL direct with that B737..Bcs,

I had the same feel when I read this news yesterday :

SG is wetleasing its 2 B737s to Nas Air to do Haj Operations, for which they'll cancel some domestic routes which they're not getting enough loads.

But IXM-MAA-DEL 2nd flight is also getting good loads - Difficult to think SG may cut off this service.

As far as I know, SG has already freed one B737 which did CJB-HYD and replaced it with 2 Q400's. I am not sure, from where they're going to free-up other B737.

Immigration works are progressing well and in its final stages now. Also MP Mr.Manik tagore is leaving Delhi soon to meet the new Home minister regarding IXM, as per his mail to me, yesterday night. He is as eager as all of us - So he will do it perfectly

The reason is just simple, when the base of the Q400 deployed changes the number also changes, 1 is for HYD and this Q400 is from Chennai base as the number denotes 3

Immigration Infrastructure is ready at Madurai airport..!!

A Central Govt. team needs to inspect the facilities available and give NOC/Clearance to do Immigration at IXM and start International operations. Only this process is get delaying and Our MP Manik tagore is flying Delhi this week to meet the new Home minister regarding the same..
