Paris, the biggest (and greatest) french city

As usual Minato style picture.
Not everybody would agree with greatest but this my opinion, London is not so far to be the best french city.

City where I left my heart. In some places.
But what is wrong with your other Paris Thread? Don't you like it anymore?

Not only the greatest french city, but the greatest world city.

PD: Minato, I've noticed that in your threads, the racial minorities in France are overrepresented in the pics.

I have never been to Paris and would love to go...but it seems claustrophobic by looking at the pix - so many areas kind of look the same, all the buildings are the same height and many are of the same style. Does one get that impression when actually in the city?

I suppose London would look a lot more that way today if there hadn't been so much damage from bombing in WWII.

Don't worry for Paris...my city thread, it is just that I didn't made picture in new area since a quite long time. (I don't having too much picture of the same area)
I think that I will take picture in the 6th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 20th arrondissement and maybe Vanves soon.

A bit, not so much... Paris multicultural and multiracial aspect is so much underrepresented on its international reputation.
The Paris where I live is a huge melting pot, not the city of Amelie Poulin.

Yes and no.
The feel change between district, the architecture could be similar but not the shops, people... so can't confuse Grands Magasin area or Bonne Nouvelle area with Strabourg Saint Denis, even if these are in the same boulevard.

Actually plcmat and jcarloschile, Paris had been bombed even in central district like Marais, of course far less heavely than other city like Rotterdam, Berlin or London.

Good choice. I have spent a lot of time in the 6th. Could you maybe take pictures of
Rue St. André des Arts, Mazarine please.

I've been to Paris several times and clearly remember that McDonalds was somewhat scarce and Starbucks was non-existant.

Times are changing.

don't worry, it's scarce compared to the overwhelmingly huge number of bistros, brasseries, bars, restaurants... and french sandwiches such as "jambon-beurre" with "baguette" is far more eaten than mc donald's food...

Yeah I went to Paris once about two years ago & I was mostly in the latin quarter where I didnt see a lot of global chains. Its good that in some neighborhoods there still more local flavor

Yeah, I will add that here we see picture of busy corner or streets where there is many starbucks or McD.
Secondly in those pictures there is far more cafe, brasserie, sandwich than these chain. It is just that cafe, brasserie, sandwich are less easely identifiable in the distance (they don't have international know signs like McD).

Me too but sandwichs are too expensive in Paris.
€4 the sandwich when for €6.5 I could have a good ramen or niku udon.
Unfortunely these japanese fast food restaurants are always crowded in lunch hours.

Of course Paris is one of the most beautifull cities in hearth but to be the number one is realy dificult to carry out. Every city has its good and bad and everyone of them have a chance to be the best from the bottom of your hard.
