Well they usually share it with Vienna and Prague, sometimes 2d, sometimes 3d place, now 1st, second time i think. But their problem is that reconstruction seems like stopped, and airport is not finished for quite long time, i hope this year it will be done.

SVO Terminal E

http://aviaforum.ru/showthread.php?t=10971&page=498

As for me, looks a bit more like LCC terminal, design almost same as Terminal C, both E and C were designed and built by german Hochtief AG, germans could do much better anyway, but more important is functionality and service level, so i hope it gonna be really good..

Hi there!
As I can see on the SVO website, Terminal E was openend 3 days ago. Any idea when Aeroflot will start using this terminal? Can nothing found about on the net (and the Aeroflot website) I wonder why the Aeroflot daughter company Donavia uses Terminal C for charter flights again, I thought Aeroflot wanted to have it's daughters and partners together?

Sheremetyevo, 20 May 2010

View from T-E towards T-D

Terminal E is still empty, going to start full operation at the beginning of June

A glass smoking room

Toiletes at T-E

Transfer corridor from T-E to T-D

Connecting two terminals, straight will be a connection of "clear" zones, on the left there will be a connection of "dirty" zones between T-D, T-E, T-F and Aeroexpress train terminal.

Wow, Vnukovo new terminal is pretyy amazing!! sheremetyevo also, but vnukovo one is from other world

(only a question) Sheremetyevo ampliation is not a bit ambitious for the passangers per year that the airport recieve? I understand 1 new terminal, but 2?, is not too much?

Pd; sorry for my horrible english

Ruso141, its just measures to ensure leading status in Moscow region. SVO is still main if we want to travel to Europe, and Aeroflot has a strategy to develop Europe-Asia hub, so its okay. New terminal D was planned since 2001, so now, after its built, Aeroflot realised that only terminal-D is not enough for them + Skyteam partners. That is why Aeroflot will remain in other terminals, 10 flights will be departing from new E terminal. And i am sure, terminal F will also be the one that they will use. Especially now, after terminals D and E will be in full operation, terminal F will be reconstructed to provide better service. I can say, the capacity is really good now, they are looking for perspectives. They want to develop routes, especially from Asia and South America. Brazil and Russia, and as i know, Ecuador and Russia are looking for opening direct flights. And SVO is the only airport who wants to take these flights. From SVO you can fly mostly to all european contries, and of course Germany is the leader with a number of daily flights to 7 cities.

Domodedovo this year is planning to start construction of its new Terminal 2.

In fact these organizations worked together at the beginning stage of design. Actually all the design of the existing building, that will be opened soon, is done by Metrogiprotrans Institute. The structural design of the building's roof, which considerably affects it's both the exterior and interior is done by Melnikov Institute.
