CPHbane, old terminal 2 is now terminal F, many flights were moved to T-D and soon to T-E, so SVO-F is not overpopulated now already, they renovated the building inside, soon will start to renovate outside. So its not so scary and unefficient as before Hope this airport, 3 terminals, can be efficient and comfortable in the future.

Yes, you are right, also to BKK. Mostly to all asian cities except Ulan Bator and Delhi. This autumn they will add new flights to Denpasar (Bali), Phuket, Punta Cana (Dom.Rep) and Male on A330.

Those terminals are impressive of course, but what about low-cost carriers? As I understand Avianova now moved to SVO terminal B but I doubt it have enough space to serve so big city as Moscow.
Honestly, Moscow airport strategy has always confused me: usually if a city have more than one airport each try to find a specific market segment - like main airport for hub airlines, secondary for low cost point-to-point carriers and additional capacity if the primary one is congested, city airport for business traffic and feeds to other hubs. But now Moscow is served by three very similar airports each designed for classic hub carriers. VKO had a plan of being the low-cost one but the new terminal absolutely don't look like that (maybe it still is cheaper?) and Avianova moved away, Skyexpress is struggling and UTair hub is expanding.
Do you guys share the same impressions as I have and do you have more info why the city airport Khodynka was closed instead of used for restricted small-capacity flights and if there is a plan for mayor LCC terminal or even airport?
