hi all, i have been reading this post and i found it very informative. Really appreciate if you could offer some opinion to my situation.

I am having a transit in Moscow SVO airport with only 1 hour and 45 min. (if everything is on schedule). My flight is from Yerevan, Armenia and the connecting flight is going to Shanghai, China.

I know i have to transfer from Terminal D to F. But I am reading some different information from Aeroflot and SVO airport website so would like to get it clear.

1. Is the walkway between Terminal D & F open now? Or I still need to wait for the bus??
2. Do I need to pass through any security control within the transit area??
3. my main concern is the transit time. Any idea if just 1 hour & 45 min. is enough in general??

thanks. kevin

1. Yes, it's open - takes about 10-15 Minutes
2. The walkway has a clean area, so I am pretty sure you can use this to go Terminal F. If not, most likely a bus service will be offered to you to avoid having to go through security.
3. Generally definitely.

I've done the same so I can tell you. Yes, you can go from D to F and yes, you need to pass through security. Passing thru security + walking would take you around 30 minutes or so at least. Really depends on teh line at security. Either way, you have ample time and you don't need to worry.

^ When did you do the transfer? The "clean" part of the walkway was opened later than the walkway itself, IIRC. Maybe Iggis can answer that.

Does anyone know when Aeroflot is planning to re-start services to Miami. I know they recently applied for the route. I guess they want to stir up the pot with Transaero doing well there I hear. Though I will certainly miss seeing the old-reliable Il-62M at Miami headed for Lima-Santiago then back to Shannon-Moscow instead of a boring A-330.

bakkain, as far as i know, you can do transfer between D and F in clear zone, you dont need a bus, seems like Aeroflot didt refresh its site, really strange.. And i think 1 hour & 45 min for you will be okay, distance between terminals is not so big, i think not more than 10-15 min by foot, also some time for security, so all gonna be fine, and see, siamu maharaj already experienced this )

aerofoca, if Il-62M would again appear there in US region, it would be just another chance to laugh on Russia That we use old planes and look, here is Aeroflot, modern airline that use IL-62 as a long range plane ) Almost all IL-62 are not in operation in Russia, some are used by officials, some by Emergency Ministry, i think thats all.. And i dont know abot AFL's Miami, i just heard of Mexico and Cancun.

Iggis. I know the IL-62M is an old plane and most are out of service. My comment was meant more as a joke/nostalgia. I still think it is a beautiful plane and did it's job very well. It was the workhorse for Aeroflot's long haul fleet because of the Il-86 disappointing range. Anyways, I'm just sad because I will never get to fly a Russian commercial airliner. Maybe the Sukhoi superjet if i get lucky...

To bad they don't renumber the Terminals to have them in the right order ...
A gate number scheme like this would make sense too:
Peer A, B, C, D + Gate Number
Like A7, D52 ...
