Great news. I guess the traffic between Baltic countries and MOW/Russia is increasing. New routes to Vilnius prove it.

Domodedovo is entering “major league” of European airports

On December, 21st Moscow the Domodedovo airport for the first time in history of Russian aviation has served the 25-million passenger from the beginning of 2011. It was Inna Dyomin departing from Moscow (Domodedovo) by flight SQ61 to Singapore.

- For us this event symbolizes transition in a new category of the largest airports of Europe on classification of the International council of the airports (ACI) where Russia was never presented before. We are the first! – the director of the airport Igor Borisov told, showing certificate of ACI. - I congratulate everyone with this event and I wish to fly as often as possible through the Domodedovo airport! We with pleasure will always wait for you!

In the solemn action devoted to a meeting of the 25-million passenger, representatives of the state and municipal authorities, airlines, journalists, airport management have taken part.

- Today – significant day for Domodedovo, - was mentioned by the first deputy of the minister of transport of the Government of Moscow Region Alexander Mitusov. – We know that the airport isn't going to stop on the reached: next year building of a new runway will begin, the passenger terminal will be extended, together with us Domodedovo solves questions of transport availability. Let me wish on behalf of the Government of Moscow Region further successes for Domodedovo, and Inna – happy journey!

- Such rates of increase which since 2000 are shown by the Domodedovo airport, didn't know any of the largest airports of the world, - the head of administration of city district of Domodedovo Dmitry Gorodetsky has informed. It is valid success! Let it accompanies the airport and further.
In action end the memorable certificate and a gift set of the traveler – a firm sac, holder for documents, the electronic book and a cozy plaid has been handed over the 25-million passenger.

- Me with my family are departing to Bali, these gifts will be useful already today, - Inna Dyomin has told. – many thanks, I am very glad and honoured to become a 25-million passenger!

Actually in Europe all measures are the same as were in DME, you can freely enter Barajas airport in Madrid or Frankfurt, you wont find any additional measures, can you? You never know when and where it can happen, terror attacks had place in London and Madrid aswell, but it didnt affect their airports to increase security. In Madrid there was a blast on Atocha station, and? No scanners there at all at the entrance.

But at the moment they check every passenger who enters the terminal through scanner.
So if that's the case, then why did terrorist attack stil happen?

The only explanation was that there was either a fault/flaw in the implementation of security protocols OR the security itself is flawed.

If security personnel were doing their jobs, then it should not have happened. And in my humble opinion, that's no excuse (especially as it is an injustice to those who died or were injured by this incident).

The only remorse that can be done is if there were any solutions that were implemented to make sure that this incident does not ever happen again.

http://www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota/note-Russia.htm
http://www.sb.gov.hk/chi/ota/note-Russia.htm

In a way, this also applies (in a way) to the Moscow Metro. In the 21st century, there have been more than three incidents of terrorism.

Don't they employ enough security measures over at the Moscow Metro??? Is something being done to improve safety and security over there? (and by that I mean concrete and visible actions and solutions)
