Shmack, it was just impossible to build up railway link along that highway, because of the huge traffic, and just no space for that, even no space for widening for cars, so its the obly way, and since this service put in operation i am happy, now i can plan my time and not be afraid to miss my plane

Now the journey time to city center is 30 min, i think its quite good for such a huge city as Moscow is, frm 28AUG this link will change railway station and will operate from Belorusski station, that is situated on the main Moscow street, so it will be more convenient, And also there are plans of Aeroexpress in cooperation with Russian Railways to build up a new station in central Moscow near 3 Railway Stations Square onn the base of Kalanchevskaya station, a new hub specially for airports, like the main airport station in central part, where u can take train to any airport and also buy a single ticket from SVO to DME for example and just change ur train in this hub with 1 ticket, it gonna be good for those who change airports while connecting flights. When SVO-D will be opened, i am sure they will put buses frm Aero terminal to terminal D, and as maybe some of u know, there were plans to build underground link under the field to connect terminal 1 and 2, i am sure it gonna be built in the future, just now because of the financial situation, its hard to say and plan smth. Anyway, for the past years many good things were done in terms of improving quality and service in moscow airports, i hope it wont stop and people who work and buildings itself will appear to be a new Russia, friendly and peaceful, i really hope! Hochtief Construction AG announced that New terminal E construction is finished for 80%,totally in this new terminal will be 24 lifts, 8 escalators and 4 travalators. It all will help passengers with easy access on all the ways across the terminal. At the moment construction of baggage system is almost finished. Construction of T-E is following sheduled terms and going to be finished by the end of December 2009, start of operation is planned in second quarter of 2010. Passenger capacity will be around 7 million pax, 1600 pax per hour, totally together with other terminals SVO will serve 30 million pax. .
After launching T-E codes of terminal will be changed from numbers to letters, terminal 2 will be F, terminal 3 will be D, on the other side of a field terminal C is already in operation, and old terminal 1 will be demolished and new terminals A and B will be built.

Preparation for a first commercial flight from D? Its planned on 15AUG.

Railway station on the left, old terminal F (2) in the middle, SVO-D (3) on the right. Terminal E can be seen, its between F and D with its orange/grey colours, after finishing, all 3 buildings will be connected.

The baggage delivery system looks pretty ugly. Surely they could've found a better-looking solution. Rest of the airport's pretty nice though.

Well, the good side is a lot of space, people can stand around it all along the length, i dont think its sooo ugly anyway.

Wow, Sturman, amazing! Seems like they are able to finish till the end of the year. Yesterday i've read an interview with one of the main persons controlling this constrution, cant remember his name, he said opening right at the beginning of January, he said they are on time and Luzhkov told that the deadline must be followed. Seems like its all possible. Pity the left side of the terminal will be constructed later, due to demolishing the old terminal, but anyway even now it looks great, i'm very happy for VKO, huge, contemporary and spacious terminal.

They promised in November, but now there is some information that 1st of January 2010, but official site doesnt say smth like this, anyway SOON
