I agree with you. That Terminal D is shit, these are myths. I can say this to Terminal F only

Dang, that passport control area for SVO's Terminal D looks more like a concert hall entrance than an important part of an airport... The design looks really magnificent for such a secure area indeed. To me, that is one wonderful accomplishment indeed for Sheremetyevo Airport: I never thought that would be the design myself because typically, that area would be dark and have low ceilings; that one is fresh, bright, and has a high dome ceiling, a sharp contrast to airports I've gone through before.

Well, the pass control floors in DME and VKO aren't dark as well.

Vnukovo Airport resumes work following Boeing 737 incident

136 people were evacuated from an UTair air carrier plane that arrived from Stavropol to Moscow earlier today, after part of the plane’s landing gear caught fire when the aircraft was landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, no one was injured in the incident involving the UTair’s Boeing 737.

Moscow's Vnukovo Airport was temporarily closed on Saturday morning after a plane carrying about 136 people from the southern Russian city of Stavropol caught fire upon landing, a law enforcement source said. No one was reported injured in the incident.

“The plane’s left landing gear leg caught fire upon landing. Preliminary reports suggest the brake wheels were destroyed,” the source said, adding that the airport was closed at 7:48 Moscow time and would be reopened at about 10 a.m. after the aircraft – a Boeing-737 operated by the UTair airline – had been removed from the runway.

The Russian news channel Rossia 24 showed footage of the plane surrounded by rescue workers on the runway. One firefighter at the scene confirmed to the channel’s reporter that the incident had been “dangerous.”
The plane’s passengers included the Russian pop band Laskovy Mai, members of which were returning from touring together with their producer, Stavropol duma deputy Andrei Razin. Razin told RIA Novosti that the plane had been nearly full, but that it had been evacuated promptly.

The Emergencies Ministry said the plane had been carrying 136 passengers plus six crew members, while the Interior Ministry transport department put the figure at 136 including crew members.

What is the capacity of the airport? Because they are always talking about their awards because of the 27 million passengers, but nobody talks about the congestion (if there is, of course)

Based on size and utilization, I think:

DME - 31-32 million passengers PAX
SVO - 29-30 million passengers PAX
VKO - 20-25 million passengers PAX

Well... Vnukovo is not really overcrowded and it is quite spacious unlike Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport, or Mexico City Benito Juarez International Airport, which operate at 120%, 99% and 89% of the full capacity, respectively.

Vnukovo operates at more like 50% of the full capacity.

Less than 50% actually. VKO capacity (after terminal A was opened on December 2012) - 20-25 million currently, up to 30 million in the future.

Is there any map of DME with gates?
The ones at the official site only show the structure...
