mihir1310, developer is "JSC Terminal", founded specially for this project.

cubanito92, maybe its a bit old fashioned, but its a design, they didnt want to copy any other terminal, Munich or Singapore, they just wanted something different, with different materials, i think the cupola is quite nice, wooden walls sometimes look great, sometimes a bit old fashioned, but anyway its not fully hi-tech style, like many other new airports, and thats is what authors and developers wanted. The idea of this building, is a flying swan with wide wings.

This week Sheremetyevo also announced the finishing of construction of Terminal E, it will be opened for passengers in February-March 2010.

SarunasLT,

transfering of all AFL flights and its Skyteam partners from terminals B, C and F to terminal D will be made from 15 Nov 2009 till 13 Mar 2010, now already 34 flights are operating from D, only domestic. Terminal is operating now in test mode, international flights will start from 01/02/10, official opening ceremony is going to be on 09/02/10 - B'Day of AFL.

From 13.03.10 in total there will be 76 international Aeroflot flights and 31 flights of "SKY TEAM" members. Also 38 Aeroflot domestic flights + 23 domestic flights of AFL "daughters" Nordavia and Donavia.

At your service Iggis!
Now about the Sheremetyevo tower.
Where's the actual one located?
Fyi, I'm a vivid fan of ATC-towers.

Cheers!

It is located near current Sheremetyevo 1 terminal, that will be renamed to terminal B in May or June, in the future this ATC will be a part of a big Northern airport complex including terminals A,B,C. Here is a project (already posted it higher):

U can see ATC

Due to crisis, its just talks and not more, this will be built only if a passenger growth will be really impressive, as they anyway hope ) But in the nearest future we are waiting for opening of D-E-F united Southern terminal complex, when new terminal E and D (international part) will be opened and connected to terminal F (ex.2), i hope it gonna happen in March, clear zone and common zone of all 3 terminals will be connected and anyone can walk through all airport without any limits, so it will be really quite big, after this will be finished, i think they will start thinking of building Nothern complex, for the nearest future, terminal B (ex.1) will become a lowcost carrier terminal, new russian lowcost Avianova will start its flights from terminal B from March, now they use Vnukovo.

When I went to Moscow, almost 6 years ago, Sheremetevo was awful! remember that it seems such as a very very old train terminal in some ex-soviet place, the roof was brown/grey, the passport control was too small, and the luggage bands where really really old.

Now, with this reform I will be pleased to arrive at Sheremetevo's terminal, so modern, so futuristic.

Btw.. Saint Petersburg airport/terminal was real new, but small.. is it that small now?
