When is the current phase of construction at DME due to be completed Iggis? Coming again in June for the World Cup, I'm guessing just before then?

Terminal 2 is scheduled to have test runs in late April and go in to full operation in May.

The new runway should be roughly the same timeline but there were a few reports about it opening later in the year.

Can't come quick enough. Passport control last time I was there was an absolute joke. They even sent us into the VIP area & it still took at least 1.5 hours.

Wes, true, DME passport control is a mess, almost always. Thats why I use SVO and Aeroflot =) I just really hope that new T2 will help to change the situation. Also, great advantage is that in T2 arrivals and departures levels will be divided, different floors. As you know, in T1 its all on the same level.

Btw, current International sector in T1 is supposed to be converted to Domestic flights sector.

From what I understand it will only happen after the 2nd stage of terminal 2 is completed in 2023.

Vnukovo Airport served 18-million passenger for the first time in its history

December 29, 2017

Vnukovo International Airport served 18-million passenger in 2017. The total passenger traffic of the airport since the beginning of the year exceeded the record annual indicator of 2015 - 15 million 815 thousand passengers.

The record indicator was largely achieved thanks to the arrival of 12 new carriers. In addition, these results are provided by the dynamic development of the leading air companies of the airport: "Rossiya", "Pobeda", Utair and Turkish Airlines, and also due to successful cooperation of the airport with other Russian and foreign carriers. The total route network of the airport is 170 routes and it covers the entire territory of Russia, as well as more than 40 countries of CIS, Europe, Asia and Africa. Annually, the airport serves over 170 thousand flights of Russian and foreign airlines.

The 18 millionth passenger became Elena Bugrimenko, who flew on AZAL Airline on Moscow-Baku flight. Anton Kuznetsov, deputy general director for commerce of Vnukovo airport and Raib Isayev, the general representative of AZAL airline, congratulated passenger with gifts from the airport and the airline, free service in the VIP Lounge and a set of souvenirs from AZAL.
