San Diego-a-Go-Go

Sights and sounds from all over the metro area, in no particular order and without commentary. Enjoy!

Thanks for looking...

Yeah that doesn't look boring to me! You can go surfing, biking, sailing, and sledding all in one day! Bring it on!

Seriously, San Diego just has it all. Beautiful beaches, beautiful mountains. It has a juicy, thick, and wide skyline with lots of architecturally interesting skyscrapers. It has the biggest zoo in North America. Disneyland is like an hour and a half away. i've never lived there but I heard that the weather is gorgeous all year round. A lot of the people are very good-looking with hot bodies! And even snow in the mountains!

I would move to San Diego in a heart beat.

Even though Drake & Josh aren't there anymore, haha.

And I don't know why but I love this picture of the 7-11:

The San Diego metro in general is a little more conservative than other urban areas of California (like LA, and definitely San Francisco), but it varies by area. The areas around the beaches tend to be the most bohemian, laid-back and liberal. However, the areas more inland tend to be more conservative. San Diego also has alot of military bases around the area that probably contribute to its more conservative side.

I visit often because of family, and look forward to going there in a couple months for my grandma's 95th birthday. I'm looking forward to that sunshine, warmth and beaches!

Great pictures, btw!

Kensingtonian, San Diego has been a home for conservatism, but also those Republican leaders have been convicted and sent to jail for corruption and abuse of power. The city had two special elections to change city leader in the last 4 years. ¿Does it sound familiar 2001 to 2009?

It s a beautiful city though, plus you can go to Tijuana into México for a change of pace.

Sorry for going off topic, but what makes San Diego conservative?

San Diego is not that conservative. The city has more registered democrats than republicans and the county is evenly split between the two. It has a lot of military which contributes to it being more conservative than LA and SF. The city is actually very moderate overall, the northern and eastern suburbs are more conservative. A study I saw a while back ranked in right in the middle on a list of the the most conservative and liberal cities in the US.

I guess coming from someone who lives in suburban Baltimore, I can see why San Diego must look like snoozeville to you
