The art of hospitality in Mexican

Most recently, at an air show in Le Bourget Mexican Interjet airline received its first aircraft Sukhoi Superjet . Then , in early summer , Mexicans happy as children sitting in the lounge with the new aircraft from Pininfarina. Genuine happiness could read in their eyes. Finally , since the expected type of aircraft is about to start flights to sunny Mexico. But just before the start of commercial operation was still far off . As usual, a little bureaucratic issues have delayed flight kid to another continent . But even then, already are flights to its new home , Superjet had to swoop in the sky Mexico hundred hours without passengers. Such aviation regulations in that country for a new aircraft type , misleading operation. At this point, have long been ready pilots , flight attendants and ground equipment. All looking forward to the day X - September 18, 2013 - then two Superjet (XA-JLG and XA-IJR) simultaneously performed the first commercial flights with passengers in Torreon and Aguascalientes !

Honestly, deep down I am very worried about the baby in Mexico. A completely different country , with its mentality , attitude towards art and traditions. How are accustomed Superjet ? How it will operate and maintain ? The only thing there was no doubt , is that the plane will stand steadfastly all operating conditions in high airfields at high temperature. After previously received the Certificate of Amendment to ensure safe operation in such difficult conditions .

Certificate , a certificate , and the plane exploit people . And their relationship to technology will depend on how successful the operation of the aircraft will start in North America.

But all doubts are over ! Interjet already operates three aircraft , and looks forward to further seventeen ordered vehicles ( + option for ten ) . Kid with honor withstand high intensity operations. And it pleases its passengers a decent level of comfort.

Interjet showed how the level of advance preparation, desire and ability to contribute to the successful airlines launch of a new aircraft type for her trial. A data record Superjet raids from the very first day of operation is perfectly confirmed . Viva, Interjet!

Let's tear off half an hour from cold and dreary Moscow and moved to sunny Mexico. In the mountains to the sea, to the heat. To a wonderful airline Interjet, where everything is all her staff were very positive attitude , hospitable and provided invaluable assistance in the preparation of this material. I thank them for it!

1. I hasten to say that Interjet - loukost it , but yes, and the largest airline in the Mexican domestic market. It performs more than 150 daily flights to 43 business and tourist routes , including 9 international . However, unlike many other low-cost airlines , it provides a wide range of services included in the ticket price , while other carriers have to pay for it . And in general, in Mexico , some things look very strange. On the left a boarding pass for the flight . Looks like a receipt from the store. And right - passenger's luggage . Note that the blue tie sealed zipper lock bag. A tag hung on the handle , where passengers are asked to write their name, phone number and email address .

.2. Look how smile Monica meets passenger in the cabin. And these divine eyes that literally glow with happiness that you fly on this flight and it was with this crew. Why, no photo will not show it to the fullest. It should be seen on the spot.

3. Our aircraft commander and senior flight attendant Diego Gisela. KBC since the evening knew onboard crew will. In Mexico City airport, before departure, we met with him, met and specified that can be removed in a very short flight. All our requests and wishes Diego answered "Yes". In the end just concluded - źYou are absolutely welcome!╗. We were even allowed to board before passengers to crew "Russia 1" could put gouproshki in the cockpit, and we advance to remove your hand luggage and prepare to shoot.

4. What other regional aircraft boasts a tall cabin and luggage racks such volume that a bag like this fits without problems. Cabin size! Generally Interdzheta enough loyalty to the hand luggage.

5. More at Le Bourget at the presentation of the first aircraft for Interjet was told that airline passengers are accustomed to comfort and cabin size A320, which operates the airline. And when choosing a new type of regional jet was paid a lot of attention, including the dimension of comfort and aircraft from the point of view of the passenger. In addition, of course, performance and flight data. And here, according to Interjet, in Superjet-in-class competitors simply do not have.

6. Fast landing inspection and already taxiing to advance . Sukhoi Superjet 100 with registration number XA-IJR performs O4 3863 flight route Mexico - Mazatlan. On the platform is worth a second (XA-JLG - it passed its airlines in Le Bourget ) board , and the third (XA-JLV) remained behind the scenes. November 6, 2013 , he landed in Toluca after the flight from Venice Marco Polo Airport , where customization is carried out of the cabin. Aircraft manufacturer with the number 95028 , piloted by a crew airline Interjet, performed technical landing at Keflavik (Iceland) and Bangor ( Maine, USA ) , and then continued its flight to Toluca without landings than confirmed its excellent performance on long-haul routes. And on November 17 he had already made its first commercial flight on the route Mexico City - Manzanillo. In general, the day he made four trips already - after landing in Mexico City , he went to La Paz . Total flying time was then about seven hours.

7. As far as I know, Superjet - the first regional aircraft on which the forward-looking video camera. This again was a requirement for the airline configuration. Seemingly why, but they say - our passengers are accustomed to. And on the screen also shows the safety rules, but the emergency exits flight attendants always show themselves. And during the flight there twist film and advertising.

8. Take off in the city center and twist the same scheme over him. It is difficult to say where there Mexico border. From the window it all seems like a huge continuous development.

9. At tier communicate with pilots. Diego is very pleased with the aircraft. Incidentally, he - flying detachment commander SSJ100. Retrained with the A320. All pilots kid with whom I spoke, highly praised the plane and say that in terms of functionality, performance, manageability, and ease it is not worse than the A320, with which they are retrained. It is understandable, yet Superjet implemented all the latest aviation technology. Although, one of the pilots adds that table, as in Airbus, is not enough.

10. Copilot traditionally fills tier paper. One, two, three ... At my request, it writes data from our flight. We flew to Mexico City (which, incidentally, one of the highest commercial airports) with a height of 7340 feet (2230 m) at an ambient temperature of 25 degrees. Takeoff weight was 37.3 tons. And the route length of 520 nm (963 km) requires only 2.5 tons of fuel.

11. Best regional aircraft - the best gadgets aypadov mini cards Jepsen at Diego. Green highlighted our visit in Mazatlan. And the second pilot aypad usual.

12. On the day the planes make four to eight flights, showing average plaque in 9:00 with a maximum of more than 11! Always spend the night in Mexico City, where runs a mild form of maintenance. And the same night, on the need for more complex forms of service, the plane flies to Toluca. This is a small regional airport near the capital. There is a technical base of the airline.

15. Commissioned by airline aircraft mounted two toilets and a shower in the rear is only for women. However, not knowing Spanish, it is hard to understand. But you look at the truck!

16. Here is a selection of booze on a different flavor, color and condition of the liver! Loukost, say?

17. As a "starter" package offer chips. Conventional, sharp and clean thermonuclear . Overall Mexicans gladly go to the contact, communicate and photographed. Not sure, however, that this elderly couple just Mexicans

18. And now let's look at the price. A320 flight to Toluca from Konkuna cost 4874 rubles. Ticket from Mexico City to Mazatlan and back - 9786 rubles. And in the price includes one piece of luggage, booze and a pack of crisps. Assistance, kindness and smiles flight attendants without restrictions.

19. Copilot flying past shows on traffic.

20. The fact that the pilots were completed well before the operation of the airplane - that's understandable. But the surprise is the general attitude to the airline aircraft. Even before the operation the baby in Mexico was filled warehouse where all the necessary parts for the aircraft . From engine to the buckle of the seatbelt . Not a minute of downtime ! Aircraft must be in heaven, not on earth ! And besides that there is a warehouse in Fort Lauderdale (USA ) for logistical support not only Interjet, but also other possible buyers SSJ100 in North and Latin America.

22. During the first four weeks of both aircraft with tail number XA-JLG and XA-IJR raid demonstrated average 9.74 hours. And on December 19, has already completed three aircraft flight in 1487, the total duration of 1550 hours

23. Many thanks to the crew for their openness and communication! Unfortunately, a common frame with flight attendants do not - very short parking in Mazatlan and everyone is busy preparing the plane for the return flight.

24. The next day we had planned to shoot in the Mazatlan airport. This is a local quiet town. And then we, the journalists. Horror. Validating

25. By the way, in Mexico there is a universal time unit - 15 minutes ( if urgent, then 10 minutes , of course) . This gap can be expressed in any event that happens in any period of time. They come in ten minutes representative Saba Airport and ten minutes later a supernova explosion happened at the site of the Sun. Is that the timetable is holy and is not subject to time collisions. And while we 've been waiting the next ten minutes ennadtsat representative Saban entertain staff at the front desk . Alex gave her a small photo album and Marina explains that it was here on this board that the pictures in the shop now operated by the airline .

26. Naturally, you can remove all! Also check-in counters competitors

27. Here's another local feature - an employee on each check each passenger boarding pass emphasizes handle departure, landing and gate number. Everyone!

28. One piece of luggage you can bring free.

29. Well, we, finally , it's time for the platform and in the field. By the way, we got into some kind of a national holiday in the country and had a day off . But , nevertheless , all the right people in place, and have unlimited assistance in filming . After a short dialogue on our Spanish- English- Russian language with the Chief Saba ( as he himself said - BIG BOSS ) he took circuit area and asked to point a finger , where we want to take . But the fact that the sun shines on the bottom side ! And shooting on the platform off and landing would be against the sun (hello, Ramenskoye !) . So what we need in the field, on the other side . I show that a good place here and here , about VOR beacon . No question! Loads in pickup and quickly passed all the formalities examination , going to meet baby

30. At the airport, a lot of private jets. Almost all of them came from the United States over the weekend. Play golf, drink and just relax. On Tuesday, when we were leaving - there is no one there.

31. Taxiing forward to landing in Alaska. Once it is clear of the runway, we Manager gives OK to exit the runway. Gas in the floor and rush to the planned landing point

32. And here is our pick-up near the strip. You want to stand near the strip? Yes, no question. I think that if we got right on the edge - that SAB would not mind. Yes, you just look at it! What a positive guy!

33. First, the distance seemed little point of light. More and more and finally our plane yesterday again arrives in Mazatlan. Soft touch and short run.

34. Sunset has been automated to a decision height - 250 feet. According to the pilots, the plane perfectly controlled from the handle and has a lovely "volatility". After landing aboard lingered on the strip - waited until our "low-speed" pickup can catch a plane and take us to the gate, so we had to jump out of the car and "exhibit".

35 Airlines Interjet President Miguel Aleman of ň Sukhoi Superjet 100 : " In the four decades CURRENT many aviastroitelʹnyh holding zanimalisʹ aviastroeniem : Airbus , Boeing , Embraer and Bombardier . Now the market leaves Fifth Company - " Graždanskie airplanes Sukhoi ", kotoraÔ will participate in this competition . From the point of view of Mexican regional aviation Public SSJ CAN otrazitʹsÔ the Cost Sales in the entire region . This will be our contribution in economics countries and aid fools , Tak How stanut tickets cheap. We want Become the segment of regional PEREVOZOK to 100 local airplane . Already NACA fly on three SSJ100 . Our total order is 20 Samoletov with optional More at Ten . Compared with Embraer - SSJ100 Legco and more vysokotehnologičen . Cost ego registration 2.5 Downloads lower than in analog , and for us This lot . On it eliminated modern avionics , engines Daut fuel economy 10 % . Finally, on a simple in Technical Services . "

36. AND gate revived as an anthill! Simultaneously clean plane, ship food, unload and load luggage. All movements are strictly verified and beautiful.

37. Together with all services drove a tanker. Operator connected the hose to the fuel filler aircraft and waited for a break in service aircraft. After unloading luggage began refueling. We are asked to go with cameras on the other side of the aircraft, so safety rules should not be near anything electrical and non-certified.

38. Short service completed. Cling to the plane in advance tractor

39. Guilermo, copilot, inspects aircraft before departure. And just Interdzhete, mid-November, 44 pilot was prepared for the baby, including five flight instructors, as well as eight flight attendants and technicians about 100 people. And the learning continues.

40. Last preparations. Passengers already on board, waving their hand. Art after closing hatches carefully and check that all latches are closed

41. After some time in the American Aviation Administration (FAA) certification Superdzheta completed, and then the airline will launch it on a regular flight to Miami. I think this is a significant event that the Russian Sukhoi Superjet will fly already in the U.S.!

42. We're on his "pickup" move on to point shooting takeoff.

43. See how the staff escorts aboard! Lined up on the line and waving their hands. Trifle, but nice.

44. Now three baby fly from four to eight flights a day. They cover areas in Torreon, Aguascalientes, Campeche, Minatitlan, Zacatecas, Mazatlan. The longest route is Mazatlan - Mexico City (1 hour 43 minutes) and the shortest Mexico - Aguascalientes (42 min

45. Short, very short takeoff and the aircraft already in the air. It was possible to get a closer look. Pictured significant crop.

47. And now we are flying back to Mexico City. You will not believe the board is still the same - XA-IJR!

48. Behind incredibly interesting and challenging shooting in Mazatlan. Almost a day ahead of the way to Moscow.

It is a common misconception that winglets somehow automatically increase fuel efficiencies by 3-5% regardless of aircraft type and usage. The efficiency gain is very true in certain flight regimes, and these aerodynamic refinements are especially relevant to long-haul aircraft that cruise for a significant amount of time at high altitude. In those cases you may very well approach the commonly quoted 5% efficiency gain figure. But that's optimally, the real values are typically lower.

For a regional jet like the SSJ100, the efficiency gain is actually somewhat negligible, and winglets may even be a drawback if you regularly conduct short-haul "dashes" at lower altitudes (<FL300), as they might then instead add drag. I don't know if this applies to the 787-esque raked wingtips though, as they're quite different, but do I know that no single solution is optimal for all flight regimes.

I have read multiple pieces on the matter recently, having wondered about it myself. Many in fact argue that winglets and sharklets and so on have actually become a bit of a popular fad and that they're often being implemented despite negligible gains vis a vis the cost and added weight/complexity, just because of the notion that it's "modern" and as such it appeals to people. Really.

However, I would imagine that Sukhoi will look into such things for future LR models and perhaps implement them if the prospective gains prove worth it. Keep in mind that for example Ilyushin has winglets on their long-hauler Il-96-300, so it is not something that the Russians/UAC know nothing about.

iPad is informally transliterated into Russian cyrillic as айпад (aypad), thus roughly retaining the pronunciation (the straight transliteration ипад/ipad would sound like ee-pahd).

Judging by the way Helems' post reads out in general, it was probably (at least partly) machine translated (e.g. Google Translate) into English from his/her native Russian, and the translator simply failed to "reverse" said transliteration due to it being more of an informal slang.

And as far as the cockpit similarities go, that's no mystery. The reasons are two. First - for ease of adjustment, second - because the French company Thales is behind both the Airbus cockpits and the SSJ100 cockpit.

But in Russia there are three groups: who says aypad, ayped (э) and somebody for fun says iped. I am from the second

Of course, айпэд is technically the closest to the typical anglophone pronunciation. But my point was that айпад is common and not "incorrect" per se, as it's about transliterations, after all.

The adventures of the sound Š in various slivers of the Anglosphere remains a rather fascinating subject .. would elaborate, but not on an aviation forum

Winglets, sharklets and suchlike IMMHO are one of the most counter-intuitive technologies, at least to a layman like myself. Because any vertical outcrop on the aircraft wing should, I'd have thought, to be considered a no-no, a blasphemy and a bad omen, as it surely will increase the weight and drag, while contributing naught to the lift. Winglets are, though, kind of convenient to paint the company logo upon

Hello.
I am very interested in the Sukhoi Superjet.
Does anyone know the number built, the number delivered, and the number in service?
Thank you.

Private Chinese firm to buy 100 regional Sukhoi jets

BEIJING, March 25 Tue Mar 25, 2014 9:46am GMT

(Reuters) - O-Bay Aircraft Co, a privately owned Chinese firm based in Henan province, has signed a $3.5 billion deal with Russia's Sukhoi Civil Aircraft to buy 100 SSJ-100 regional jets, a Chinese executive said on Tuesday.

O-Bay Aircraft also plans to manufacture SSJ-100 jets in partnership with Sukhoi and two Chinese companies in Zhengzhou city, Henan province, said the executive, who declined to be named.

"We are still in detailed discussions with Sukhoi for the China assembly plant which would be up and running by 2018. Part of the 100 jets would be manufactured in the China plant," the executive told Reuters, without disclosing financial details of the plant.

O-Bay Aircraft, the executive said, has conducted a detailed study about the growth potential of the Chinese market. It will set up an airline company flying the SSJ-100 jets and sell the jets to other Chinese carriers in the future.

However, global regional jet makers, such as Bombardier Inc and Embraer SA have made little headway in China so far because Chinese airlines, including regional carriers, prefer commercial jets made by Boeing Co and Airbus Group NV.

Safety of home-made planes are also called into question after Chinese aviation authority grounded some of China's self-made MA-60 regional planes last month after two consecutive instances of landing gear failure.

State-backed Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China is also making a regional jet, the ARJ21, as well as a commercial jet, the C919. (Reporting by Fang Yan and Matthew Miller in BEIJING; Editing by Jeremy Laurence)

I think this thread should be renamed now as Sukhoi Super Jet 100 News & Discussions.
