The Sukhoi Superjet is much nicer without this front antena of course.
Tupolev 204 looks like a modern Airbus. Nice. Hope it is as reliable.
The Iliouchine looks like an old Boeing... Does not inspire a lot of trust...
And the Antonov is a king of its kind of course in the cargo field... No match for it...
An Antonov with Rolls Royce Engine or Pratt & Witney could make it a very fuel efficient plane, no?

i think the SSJ-100 y a great and modern airlplane, but the problem is that is not "popular", actually i don't know why the airlines, haven't bought it, they must look for efficiency and not for popularity.

yeah my friend, but uncomparatly with Embraer new products... .
that reminds me what happened with the 707 and the DC8, the airlines bought the DC8, just because Douglas was very famous on the market rather for the efficiency of the airplane, but actually the 707 was better.

Alitalia listed as customer for 20 Superjets
David Kaminski-Morrow, London (01Jul10, 15:13 GMT, 226 words)

Alitalia has been listed as a customer for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 by the regional aircraft's manufacturer, with an order for 20 of the type.

The Italian flag-carrier is included in a portfolio of firm orders for the twin-jet which features in Sukhoi's newly-released annual report for 2009.

It shows Alitalia as having a firm order for 20 aircraft. The contract is listed as being associated with Sukhoi's Italian-based marketing partner Superjet International.

Alitalia could not immediately be reached for comment. But the SkyTeam carrier, which emerged as a restructured entity early last year, would become the highest-profile Western customer for the aircraft to date.

Industry sources indicate that the airline would firm the order through a Western lessor to reduce acquisition risks.

Sukhoi's portfolio lists 123 firm orders, and eight options, for the Superjet as of 1 February 2010.

Russian flag-carrier Aeroflot accounts for 30 of the type, and Armenia's Armavia for another two. These operators are set to be the first to receive the aircraft, initial deliveries of which will take place this year.

Lessor Avialeasing is listed as the customer for 24 Superjets, while Finance Leasing accounts for two plus the eight options.

Orders affiliated with Superjet International also include ItAli Airlines - which has 10 in the backlog - and companies identified as SOGECA, for 15 aircraft, and ACE for 20.

I've read some people saying this is not correct but posted it here anyway. Also the Sukhoi superjet100 is going to be participating in the Farnborough (spelling?) airshow this month.

Russian aircraft makers can compete in global market - Putin

Russian aircraft manufacturing companies are capable of penetrating global markets despite tough competition, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

"We are certain that the Russian aircraft industry could find its own niche on the global market and we lay serious hopes on that," Putin said at the international forum Engineering Technologies-2010.

Putin said Russia was well aware of strong competition on aircraft markets but had several projects that could become a success globally, including the An-124 Condor heavy-lift transport plane and the Superjet 100 medium-haul passenger plane.

The An-124 was designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in 1982, and was produced in Ukraine's Kiev and Russia's Ulyanovsk plants until 1995. Although there are no An-124s being built at present, Russia and Ukraine have reportedly agreed to resume production in the future.

The Superjet 100 project is a family of medium-haul passenger aircraft developed by Sukhoi in cooperation with U.S. and European aviation corporations, including Boeing, Snecma, Thales, Messier Dowty, Liebherr Aerospace and Honeywell.

The certification procedures have delayed the delivery of the first aircraft to Armenia's national airline Armavia and Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot, which was due to begin in December 2009.

Putin confirmed on Wednesday that the Superjet 100 and its engine had almost completed the certification process and the first deliveries of the plane would start by the end of 2010.

Sukhoi, part of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), plans to manufacture at least 700 Superjet 100s, and intends to sell 35% of them to North America, 25% to Europe, 10% to Latin America, and 7% to Russia and China. It is not clear where the remaining 23% would be sold or redistributed.

Currently, the company has at least 122 firm orders for Superjet 100 airliners.

What? I already pictured this with the Alitalia color scheme.

The company only said it hadn't meant to publish the information - not that the information was wrong. I think they just didn't want the cat out of the bag before the Farnborough air show in a couple of weeks. Oops.
