I wonder what the fuel economy of an SSJ vs Embraer vs CSeries is like...?

Numbers vary, and it's a bit hard to properly compare airplanes that are slightly (or not) different. But generally fuel consumption is about 3-10% better than older models of Embraer and more or less the same as their modern models. It's still hard to say about CSeries since there are no stats on it yet, but the problem of CSeries vs SSJ is the price of the plane itself - for CS100 it's 2 times larger then for SSJ.

I had my first flight on the SSJ in June, from Nichny to Moscow, my biggest impression was how quiet it, I was in row 19, so fairly close to the engines and I gotta say it felt a lot quieter than the 737 I took from Moscow to Stockholm a couple of hours later.

Cityjet and Interjet and Aeroflot have the largest fleet/orders . No big Asian order though. If Sukhoi get a large Asian order for themselves they will be out of the woods in terms of globalising the aircraft and getting in to the Embraer/Bombardier space.

There are some strange rumours doing the rounds about Cityjet and a new owner after an initial merger with Stobart who operate ATRs ....possibly that IAG will acquire them or that IAG may acquire a stake.

In that case, and assuming that the Citijet SSJ acquisition continues apace then Sukhoi might have landed in the big boys space.

Hey Sponge Bob.

Thank you for answering me. I see that SSJ is trying to push trough the market. I would be happy if my country could buy some of these instead of airbus. We could replace our ageing ATR planes with SSJ.

Depends. ATRs are great short field performers and you need longer airfields for jets as well as a lot of 500km + sectors when airborne.

Against that an RJ (any RJ) is safer in crosswinds than an ATR. If you live in a country with short sectors, short airfields and no regular crosswinds then stick to the ATRs.

I Know SSJ-100 should be selling in much larger numbers, only being held back by the sanctions against Russia and the stigma of Russian airplanes in the West.

Unlike the Bombardier C-Series, Embraer E-Jets and now the Mitsubishi MRJ, the SSJ-100's much wider fuselage makes it a more pleasant experience for passengers, who won't feel so claustrophobic inside the SSJ-100. And it appears the SSJ-100 could eventually be adaptable for a smaller version of the Pratt & Whitney PW1000G PurePower geared turbofan engine, too.

CSeries is even wider than SSJ.

that is correct. While the SSJ isn't shown in this picture, it is roughly similar to the MRJ in this diagram

I also didn't realize how cramp the EMB series are
