I read couple days back project was given go-ahead, I don't believe construction work has started yet

does anyone know if any 5 star hotel will open before t20 world cup in chittagong ? bcz most people from around the world will visit chittagong that time , i am pretty sure the hotels they have now in chittagong its not gonna meet the standard for those foreign people , chittagong needs better roads sidewalks and good 5 star hotels before the t 20 world cup otherwise people from other countries will recommend bangladesh in a different way

Yes, Radission Bay View Hotel, Chittagong is planned to be opened before the T20 Worldcup in Bangladesh. Some excerpts from the article on financial express:

CHITTAGONG, May 20: Construction of the much-hyped 5-Star Radisson Hotel, the first ever in the port city, is progressing speedily with an eye to enter operation by April 2014.

Businesses and entrepreneurs feel the importance of a sophisticated hotel with convention centre of global standard as buyers and investors from the developed world visit the city on business purposes or as tourists.

"We have an eye on the T20 ICC World Cup 2014. Hopefully, Chittagong Divisional Stadium will be selected as a venue for that international tournament. It may bring us a chance to render the best accommodation and services to the players from Bangladesh and other countries," said Col Wahab.

If that is a station convert, it is a fantastic looking interior, good conversion job. What type of cuisine ? Pictures suggests it is serving Chinese/Thai food.
