We looked at mountains until dawn, and then when dawn came, it was too pretty for me - there was pink and blue and gold, in the sky, and on icy places, brilliant pink and gold flashes, and the snow was colored too, and I said," Oh," and sighed; and each moment was more beautiful than the one before; and I said, " I love you, Momma." Then I fell asleep in her arms.
That was happiness then.

Amazin, I admit that I am not interrested by Giza pictures but the rest is show us a slice of Cairo life.
Especially the buildings with the big adverts.

Cairo is a crazy city and I mean that in a totally positive way.
The best time to travel is in april imo.

It's not advisivle to go whent he sandstorms hit that paint the whole city yellow.

I used to live in a neighbourhood called Dokki for a while and enjoyed it and the people of Cairo very much.

Thnx for the pics!
It looks very mystical and the old buildings remind me a little bit of of Malta.

I'd love to visit Cairo, looks lively and crazy. Might not be the most beautiful city on earth, although some parts are truely amazing.
Liked your pictures.

Wow, interesting city, looks a bit chaotic but that's the way I like it, all these historical buildings next to modern ones

Cairo reminds me of cities in greece in that, particularly seen in the arial shots, 1 story buildings seem almost nonexistent. i love that there is such great detail even way high up on some of the skyscrapers. i think some of the buildings need a paint job, but i can definitely see the rich history in many of these pics.

No but it shows the real Cairo, at least some of it.

While there are worse neighbourhoods in Cairo, especially the cemetary slums there are a lot of beautiful neighbourhoods with lots of trees and wonderful street life as well.
I really wish someone from Dokki, Zamalek or Maadi would make a thread full of street-level pics.
