Yah - after all, these 2 sections are a part of Bangkok commuter networks - I wish that the red line commuter networks will be extended to

1. Lopburi (km 132.81 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong - Northern end of Bangkok commuter networks),

2. Kaeng Khoi (km 125.10 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong - Northeastern end of Bangkok commuter networks),

3. Rajburi (km 117.36 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) even though it is possible to be extended to Pak Thon (km 134.67 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) - the main dropping point from the Southern line to Mae Klong line - with a possible connection to allow Maeklong line to connect with the main Southern line -

Nevertheless, the extension of electric traction to Hua Hin (km 229.04 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) along with Pataya (km 155.14 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) to support tourism would be great.

Electrified Branch line to Kanchanaburi (km 133.09655 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) and Suphanburi (km 157.65 from Bangkok railway terminus at Hua Lamphong) to support tourism would be great.

Note on the New CRRC Changchun carriages: they will use on the new train which will use the schedule of SP1/2 but with the new code as SP 9/10 while the SP1/2 train will use the schedule of SP 13/14 - and the SP/13/14 will be dissolved so those JR West carriage will be use in Express 51/52 which will use schedule of Rapid 107/108 while Rapid 107/108 will be the last Northern train - this is the way to meet the greater demand for the Northern trains but cannot come early to catch SP 1/2 which depart at 6 PM.

Now, the upcoming special express train to Ubon will be ready in November 2016 and the upcoming special express train to Nong Khai will be ready in December 2016 - with the stops the following stations:

New Ubon special express 23/24 will stop at Bangkok, Samsen, Bangsue, Bangkhen, Laksi, Donmueng, Rangsit, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon

New Nong Khai special express 25/26 will stop at Bangkok, Samsen, Bangsue, Bangkhen, Laksi, Donmueng, Rangsit, Ayutthaya, Khon Kaen, Udonthani, and Nong Khai

However, we better wait until the final schedule has been issued though.

the latest news, it would take another 12 months to make a settlement on Hatyai - Padang besar shuttle in the way to connect with the trains to Sugei Golok - not just for Hatyai alone due to the demands from those from Sugei Golok and those from Kelantan http://www.khaosod.co.th/view_newson...sid=1473076195

Thailand launches new inter-city trains
Written by Keith Barrow

STATE Railway of Thailand (SRT) launched its first new passenger vehicles for more than 20 years on August 29, when a rake of inter-city coaches supplied by CRRC Corporation, China, made an inaugural run from Bangkok Hua Lamphong to Nakhon Pathom.

SRT awarded CNR Changchun Rail Vehicles (now part of CRRC Corporation) a Baht 5bn ($US 143m) contract in October 2014 to supply 115 of the stainless steel-bodied coaches, including nine first-class and 88 second-class sleeping cars, nine restaurant cars, and nine generator cars.

The vehicles are equipped with air-conditioning and retention toilets, while some of the sleeping vehicles are fitted with lifting platforms to improve access for passengers with disabilities.

The first batch of 39 vehicles was handed over to SRT on July 14 and trial runs began last month. The remaining coaches are due to be delivered by October, when the fleet will make its passenger debut on the Bangkok - Chiang Mai route.

The coaches will also be introduced on services from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani, Nong Khai, and Butterworth (Malaysia) next year.

Red line commuter station from Bangsue Central to Rangsit - Bangsue Central is the biggest one (300000 sq m of space) since it must be able to deal with red line commuter, intercity trains, Airport link extension and high speed train - and Donmueang is the second biggest (25000 sq m of space) while Lak Hok is for commuter (7800sq m.) and Rangsit is the third largest (21000 sq. m.) for commuter and intercity - while Chatuchak, Samian Naree, Bangkhen, Thung Songhong, Laksi, Karn Keha are for commuter so it has just 7200 sq. m. space.

Red line commuter will be opened in 2020 though with the cost overrun from 59,888 Million Baht to 93,950 Million Baht - red line commuter expect to carry 306,608 passengers a day
http://www.prachachat.net/news_detai...sid=1473659981

Progress on 185 km Thanon Jira - Khon Kaen double tracking - going to open the first 55 km from Thanon Jira - Mueang Khong in October 2017 even though the progress is just 6% (1% behind the schedule). The old station building of Khon Kaen will have to be demolished to make the way for the new elevated station though.

On the other hand, the progress of 106 km double tracking from Chacheongsao to Kaeng Khoi via Klong 19 is that the government is going open 43 km section of double tracking (Chachoengsong - Klong 19 (24 km) and Kaeng Khoi - Bu Yai (19 km) ) in October 2017 as well.

the Elevated Khon Kaen station with elegant design by Tor Tong of CK PCL (Contractor for Thanon Jira - Khon kaen double tracking) - still has an issue to be concerned when the rainstorm is hitting Khon Kaen city - and the old traditional design of station which many new generation boo on the design

4. No more Express 74 Sisaket - BKK

9. Special Express 35 BKK - Padang Besar become BKK - Sugei Golok
