Baku Flame Towers is a new project of Diaholding http://www.diaholding.com striking new addition to the skyline of Baku. Inspired by Azerbaijan’s long history with fire worshipping, the towers will be an eternal flame for a modern Baku.

Located on the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan, the site is situated on a hill overlooking Baku Bay, the old city center and the park. With a site area of approx 28,000 m2, the project brief requires the development of detailed drawings for 3 towers (hotel, residential and office) located on a retail podium. The total construction built up area of the project is 234,500 m2.

The construction has started in 2008 and is due for full completion 2013.

Now it's on the earth, the first floor is coming, right?

Btw Center part between the towers remind me Golden Terraces in Warsaw. Oh and the area looks quite small from the pictures, is it possible to build 3 large towers to there? Twins can look better than triplets imo, hope they can't fit the 3rd one

Interesting article about Flame Towers project revealing some new information!!!

Hill wins £240m Flame Towers contract in Baku

Consultant Hill International has won a contract to provide project management services for the £240.7m Flame Towers development in Baku, Azerbaijan. The 30-month contract for client Azinko Development MMC has an expected value to Hill of approximately £3.4m. This is Hill’s first major assignment in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Flame Towers development will feature three high-rise buildings supporting hotel, residential and office facilities ranging in height from 34 to 39 stories.

The towers will be linked by centrally located retail and leisure facilities.

The development is located on a prime site in the city of Baku with views of the Caspian Sea. The total built-up area of the development is expected to be approximately 235,000m2.

Raouf Ghali, president of Hill’s project management group (international), said: “We are honoured and excited to participate in the construction of this ambitious development, especially with its innovative design which we are sure will become a significant landmark in Baku.”

The project is expected to be completed by June 2011.

Exactly! As i understand some 5-6 floors are retail parts. And in the description of the 3 towers on the website of DIA they say 29, 30 and 33 floors. It means they didn't count the retail part
