Westfield Tower Sydney, Friday October 16 2009

Finally found a hole in the awnings along the Pitt St side to poke my camera through. You can see the crane for the office tower.

Lonsdale Street Powerstation...thanks to John Proctor

The 113 Lonsdale Street 6 storey building is on the EAST side Rose Alley which forms the 'eastern' edge of the site. Report says - 'one of the apartment towers will 'bridge' Rose Alley and be partially constructed above 113 Lonsdale Street' (interesting - looked at images and it looks pretty cool)

6 level podium all around on the main site

heights are:
167m
152m
111m
155m

Heritage water tank STAYS.

btw. its 6.15pm and I'm still at work - hence no post of further pictures. (and I'm gonna be busy tomorrow so don't hold your breath there'll be more till Monday)

Definitely an improvement on the previous render. Will it actually have the image of the men on the building?

There was a proposal once in Sydney for a building with balconies that created an image of two people if you squinted but it was never built.

EDIT: here

Agree 100%. the gold coast has grown far too big to remain how it is it needs a centralised area for developments. Only problem with a Central "Business" District is I am not shure if the gold coast has any business. Is there even one office tower amoungst all those apartments and hotels?

Southport and Bundall are the business districts (Robina too) and yes, there are commercial towers. The main high rise area is Main Beach, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. Other areas such as Burleigh and Coolangatta allow high rises, but generally only up to about 25-30 levels. Other areas allow buildings up to about 8-10 levels.

They must like the angled roof at the moment because they did
"The Pinnacle" in London and it looks similar kinda..
though Pinnacle is coverd in glass and its 200+ meters high and is an office tower, but If you look at a picture of it youll see what I mean

ps. this is a compliment, the towers are great, it just doesnt stop in GC
