Aragon Tower Visit
After such an experience whilst getting to know so many great new people on The Landmark tour I would really like to open up my flat to those interested in seeing the view from Aragon Tower.
I live on the 20th floor, and whilst the view cannot quite match that from The Landmark, and in essence it is just a trip to my flat, it is still worth seeing for the views of Canary Wharf and The City. And of course it is a good excuse to all meet up again, and go for a pint on the little known "Wibbly Wobbly" boat bar afterwards ![]() I am proposing Saturday 4th April and can welcome 12 people. Of course the date can be changed if too many cannot make it. I suggest coming during daylight and watching the nightfall so we get to see London looking sexy at night. Places are reserved for those who have already expressed an interest: gothicform; mulattokid; The Sage; ibiza and Danny Wallace (really sorry I forgot which was your screen name but you know who you are!) wjfox has a place if he wants it for all his moderator goodness and anyone else who was on The Landmark tour and is interested (sorry if i forgot about you). As details firm up I will edit this first post; think I have included everything here, but never done anything like this before so please advise me Mark (or anyone) if there is something I have missed or need to do

Indeed, everybody remember that this is Wawds home, treat it with respect. Though I am sure everyone here will.

Thank you wawd, I would love to (and conveniently live in SE16) but all being well I will be on holiday then. Sadly I couldn't make the landmark either. But thought I would drop a line anyway to express appreciation of the offer! There'll be other occasions for get togethers I hope!

really excited about this, ever since seen your first thread "pictures from Aragon tower" a long time ago been dying to get up there one day and your recent regular updates of Pan Peninsula with the view of the whole Isle of Dogs only wettened the appetite even more, could even imagine to rent an apartment there once they get this cycle bridge (hopefully for the Olympics) to CW built..
PS: just managed to buy tickets for Jacko on my birthday in January. Just too good to be true, so had to share it with you guys. Last time I seen him was as a little boy in Munich for the BAD tour. Really hope he can get his act together, but if ever it should be in January after doing 3months of shows in the summer and 3months of rest after that.. yeah, funny, Mark.
(although had to look up the Zimmer thing, guess that's a company better not to know..) Been sceptical as well about the whole story at the start what with him appearing not being able to perform a single song some years ago but apparently that was a case of stage fright and he will have plenty of opportunities to overcome that again now. If he can regain his fitness and deliver a proper show I'm quite sure (it took literally minutes to sell almost a million regular priced tickets, even the tons of 800pound VIP packages were gone within hours..) he would be able to fill the O2 for many many years. And if he finds back the fun in performing he might actually do that, by far less stress to keep the thing in London (a la Dion in Vegas only with a venue 5 times as big..) than touring the world. And surely London would profit big time from it, this could bring more extra visitors than the Olympics and that at more or less zero costs to the general public.. |

well, you know, he wouldn't be the first one for whom money ends up being the starting motivation to do something they really enjoy and perform at in the end. Aren't we all lazy bastards now and then (and with him it's obviously going far beyond laziness but it might still be possible to get over, being active again and getting positive feedback can have quite some "healing" power) who need a kick to get going?
