Does the missus come downstairs late at night to hear noises like "Oh god they are so huge, look at the size of that, what a great body, so many curves in all the right places", then opens the study door to find you with your hand down your pants staring at Skyscrapercity London threads in High Def??

Perhaps my opinions aren't welcome, o well enjoy your buildings, they're all wonderful, especially the really really big ones.
I vote for Blackfriars Road. Last edited by MrFaceHead; March 21st, 2009 at 01:31 AM. |

I voted for Shard, Pinnacle, 122 Leadenhall and Heron. There are lots of interesting designs, and designs that I like but don't have that much architectural merit. These are mainly at Canary Wharf. On their own, each building isn't that good, but together in a cluster at Canary Wharf, it will create an excellent and unique environment. I can't vote for the seperate buildings though.
The only tower that I really don't like is 20 Fenchurch Street. I hate it's nickname to start with, it's as much of a joke as the building. The renders from ground level make it look quite nice, and even the building itself isn't that bad. But on the skyline it would look awful. The way it increases floorspace higher up is too obvious and too clumsy.

i voted for wood wharf and north quay because they will add to canary wharf hugely and will make a great cluster, oh and of course the shard.

Heron Tower is my favourite building, but also looking forward to seeing the Shard, 122 Leadenhall and Baltimore Wharf. Not fussed on the rest and actively dislike the Walkie Talkie, Park Place and 100 Bishopsgate.

1 - 122 Leadenhall
2 - The Shard of Glass 3 - Strata 4 - Heron Tower/The Pinnacle 5 - 1 Blackfriars Road 6 - St George Tower 7 - Crossharbour - "Baltimore Wharf" 122 Leadenhall is such a beauty, I am smitten, and even tough it's on hold, I'm determined to stay positive. In the meantime, I'm really enjoying watching Heron and Strata going up and I can't wait for the Shard and the Pinnacle to start rising soon. Exciting times!

I would have voted for the Shard, but Riverside South just seems to create a certain 'London is a major world city' look to Canary Warf. In terms of individual architecture though, The Shard wins hands down.

I voted
The Shard Pinnacle Wood Wharf Cross Harbour and the Odalisk I'd prefer it if they all went ahead to be honest...but these were the top 5 I thought of. However if I could go back in time 60 seconds I'd pick riverside south over the Odelisk. I didn't pick L122 because It's dead...but maybe some of the others are. oh well. |

So if they make 100 bishopsgate it will be nextdoor to 99 bishopsgate and acroos the road to heron tower they could make a bridge connecting all 3 of them

I could have voted for the lot but decided to select my favourite two ...
The Shard .. unusual building in unusual location. I like clusters but I hope they don't build any more talls just there. Riverside South .. comparatively ordinary looking but in a great location. Love this image http://www.skyscrapernews.com/pictur..._pic6.jpg&no=6 ... timeless beauty. Last edited by querido; August 19th, 2009 at 09:18 PM. |

I've always said the Shard is my favourite but now that Heron is actually rising I really feel that this pips it to the top. For me, it has many of the elements of a perfect skyscraper - slender, glass, reaching to a spire, podium-less, rigid lines and easy on the eye. Just wish it was slightly taller.
The shard is clearly going to be a real breakthrough for London and I really hope it looks very slender/thin without looking too bulky from some angles. The way it harks back to the spires that used to define London's skyline is it's biggest attraction and the view from the top will clearly be amazing. |

1) The Shard - love that render, the best i've seen so far, looks majestic & breathtaking there.
2) The Pinnacle - almost as nice as the Shard and will be a real groundbreaking building for the City. Just like Tower 42 was when it was built. 3) Leandhall Building - gorgeous design & great height, just wish they would get on and build it! 100 Bishopsgate looks like a nice functional design, but could do with having its height increased by around a third (the same goes for Crossharbour) and i'd never heard of the Odalisk before, that looks very interesting!
