Public spaces

I'm searching for some examples of contemporary modern public spaces, such as Stadtlounge in St. Gallen in Switzerland.
Can you help me with this?

St Patrick's Street and Grand Parade in Cork.
Completely modernized public spaces in the center of Cork, realized just in the last years.

I should have thought about finding a list of the world's largest public spaces or world's largest city parks.

I would find non commericialized shopping center like public spaces the most interesting. Shopping centres are often privately owned and not public. Bums and the poor get a security guard on their tail if they try to hang out.

Google/Flickr search for Darling Harbour in Sydney. Also Hyde Park in Sydney. In Melbourne, Federation Square or Southbank. In Dublin, the entire Temple Bar area has public space all over.
