Try out the Moscow Monorail for yourself and you'll agree that this system in it's current form is a huge waste of money. Speed, comfort, accessibility - none of these characteristics can match those of the Metro or the light Metro.

I've been wishing, all along, first-hand familiarity to be the type to pipe up ...

It seems like the Monorail is going into some sort of "excursion mode" from Monday 23 January onwards:

(I might be wrong, I can't read Russian, got info from twitter's bing translate)

What is the end-to-end traveling time (have to be cca 17 minutes), and what is the average speed of the monorail?
Every time I used the Moscow monorail, I was frustrated with the slow ride...

Many Muscovites used monorail as transport link between northern radii of the Metro Lines 6 and 9. The average speed was about 15 km/h. However, in September 2016 there was opened Moscow Central Circle (where carriages have much larger capacity, the time intervals between trains are shorter and the transfers to the northern radii of the said Metro lines are more comfortable). In addition, in September 2016 there was opened northern radius of the Metro Line 10, between northern radii of the Line 6 and Line 9 (with Metro station "Fonvizinskaya" near Monorail station "Ulitsa Milashenkova"). As a result of these two events, the passengers traffic at the Moscow Monorail greatly decreased, that become reason for his current operation in excursion mode.

I think it's a big error. Monorails are a very good way to move around a city. May be it's less useful than a subway metro, but It is much more funny, especially for tourists.

Definitely fun for tourists but not particularly in a laughable way.
