New Hanshin 5700 series

@AsahiTrainClub1

This new 4-cars train will enter in service next August. The capacity of the 5700 series are 514 people in total. 173 seated and 341 standing.

The train has a stainless-steel body. The main color is blue (typical from local services in Hanshin I guess). As other trains, LCD screens and full LED displays are installed. Of course all the lighting uses LED. Also, the train incorpores a VVVF inverter with regenerative brakes.

Is Hanshin introducing the 5700 Series EMU because many of their older all-stops service EMU's are getting up there in years and need to be replaced?

Beautiful. Will be interesting to see if any of the other rail agencies pick up some of these car design concepts (all LCD panel ads, full color destination displays, Wi-Fi info broadcast) when replacing their stock.

Tokyu Denentoshi and Meguro lines... with that Sotetsu Jukan line looming in 4 years, there's going to need to be an upgrade done at some point...

No idea but, JR-East wants to remove all the E231-500 series from the Yamanote Line, and this is around 50 trainsets.

Are they going away from the horizontal colored stripes that indicates which line the train belongs to?

Of course the Shigino Station will be improved. The new central platform for tracks 2·4 is the next stage.

JR Osaka Higashi Line north section link w/ Tokaido Main Line (JR Kyoto Line) and Nishi-Suita Station

From Shigino, the Osaka Higashi Line uses the current freight line (need to be upgraded) until Yodo River where the current tracks heads north to Suita, and the new commuter line needs a curve to connect to Shin-Osaka Station.

The line is expected to open by 2018.

Will the extension of the JR Osaka Higashi Line to Shin-Osaka provide convenient connections to Noe (Keihan) Station and Miyakojima Station on the Osaka Subway Tanimachi Line?

Good question.

Transfer points are planned at Noe Station (Keihan Main Line and Tanimachi Line) and Awaji Station for Hankyu Kyoto and Senri Line.

In the case of Noe Station don't know what is exactly planned to do because Keihan and Tanimachi are too separated, maybe the subway station is a bit further.
