acc521 In Seville: 15 - 16 March 2009

A nice city with a lot of interesting architecture and history but a bit to slow paced for my tastes. A good place to relax but that's not what I'm after on this trip

Seville is hands down one of Europes most charming cities . And it aint as slow paced as you would think . The Spanish hours are totally different to the Anglo countries . Everything starts much later in general . You really have to live in the place for awhile to understand and appreciate the magnificent lifestyle .

As a Canadian that lived in Madrid and Barcelona i found out first hand . First impressions aren't always correct . At first sight it was a toss up between Madrid and barcelona . After having properly sampled both cities madrid just stole my heart . Unbeatable restaurants , tapas bars , friendly residents and nightlife you have to see to believe . And some of Europes most incredible historic cities that surround Madrid such as Toledo , Segovia , Avila and above all Salamanca .

I'm quite fond about sharing this experience with foreigners as i know that many go to Spain for a few days and believe they have got to know the place when it is no where near possible unless they fully live the lifestyle .

And taking away Madrid and Valencia Seville probably has the best late , late nightlife activities in the country .

Seville is very beautiful!

And Peshu you're right that first impressions aren't allways correct. Spain has an incredible nightlife and as one of the biggest cities in Spain Seville certainly has an incredible nightlife aswell....

When it comes to tourists I would be very much surprised if there aren't many tourists in Seville, though the pictures don't show it.

I'm not so sure about it having a very good nightlife in the Spanish context, but it's touristy for sure, it could probably be considered as the third most visited city in the country after Madrid and Barcelona besides certain beach towns in the coast, in a close position to others like Valencia or Granada. For some reasons (location, hour, day of the week, whatever) pictures don't show it.

Seville has been the most touristy of all the places I've been so far. No question about it.

Totally agreed.
A very touristy place, charming and very representative of southern Spain. I really appreciate Seville so much.

True, Seville is a very touristy city, but it is incredibly beautiful and is a must see IMO. It won't disappoint!

For me personally, as far as Spain goes, it has to be Madrid. Unbeatable in every way!
