Suzhou is more of a industrial city. The percentage of service sector in its economy is below average in the Yangtze delta.

the design is great, but they should extend the spire by another 15m to 20m. the roof is perfect. so they shouldnt mess with that

Is this an alternative rendering for this project, or a new project altogether?

http://www.pcparch.com/#/projects/ne...rds---tower-3/

Seems like it is located in Suzhou, as that is the "Gate of Suzhou" in the background, no?

Great find!!

This 100-story, 3 million square foot office, residence and hotel tower integrates exemplary technology in structural design, energy conservation and curtain wall design expressed as a graceful and timeless iconic form.

The forms were derived from a variety of local sources. The tower profile with a gentle bulge at the lower portion is an abstraction of the organic forms pervasive in the country’s famous gardens. The plans have eight articulated facets that allude to the petal arrangement of many flowers, but are distorted in response to the dimensional limitations of the site. This deformation, similar to the accommodations of organisms in response to the environment, is also a lesson learned from nature. The design references both the delicate texture of plants in the gardens as well as the elaborate screens decorating private pavilions. An intricate screen, designed for the high performance curtain wall, will further reduce solar heat gain.

You'd change your tune if Canada had 1.3 billion people.

Yes, i think a lot of people seem to forget the fact that both China and India has 1 billion people each, so what they build and the scale of their projects should be a lot bigger
