New Belgrade Bridge - Ada Bridge

Spanning the river Sava at the tip of Ada Ciganlija, the new structure is going to be a single-pylon cable stayed bridge. As the most significant element of the Belgrade Inner City Semi-Ring Road, the new structure will provide increased network capacity, for both local and transit traffic. With its 200m high pylon and 376m span, the bridge will become a significant landmark of the City of Belgrade and its transportation infrastructure.

Good news. Belgrade has a dearth of bridges. I am glad the bridge will accommodate transit as well as cars.

Beside this one across a Sava river, there are plans for two new bridges across Dunabe.

I hope that pontoon bridge is gone and traffic on the Danube is resumed.

The pontoon bridge was at Novi Sad. It was dismantled about two years ago.

NEW CHINESE BRIDGE ON DANUBE
Sava bridge is current bigest project in Europe also with a new Danube bridge start in 2010 finnaced and to be built by China.
