Great thread, lov'it!
Singapore does surprise me a lot, it changes almost everyday. anyhow, the city is doing great but hopefully they don't forget the less-high-class part of the country.

Amazing pics! I prefer the light-up at marina bay though. But overall this year's decorations are much better than previous years'.

To ausie:
UOB Plaza 1 (55th floor)  You can also try Suntec roof top (need to pay small entrance fee) and it's great for taking city skyline. I have not been there but seen pics taken from there and it's spectacular  Marina Centre shopping mall roof top also not too bad but low height. Another place i found recently is on the roof top garden at newly opened Orchard Central shopping centre (yes public access no issue)...very nice view of Orchard road area and surrounding. Expect crowded during Christmas eve night time.  While at Orchard Road you can drop by Isetan building top carpark levels (opposite CK Tang Building) and get a really nice view of Orchard Road and ION shopping mall. It's free
